I’ve been considering a tulle skirt for a while, The White Company had a lovely one at Christmas time but by the time I’d decided to go for it, it had sold out everywhere! Have a little looksee at your car safety seat’s top tether hook…. Does it have a black plastic triangle keeper clip like the photos on the right? Or is it missing like the photos on the left? All Australian car safety seats and capsules are required to have these safety keeper clips on the anchor hook to pass Australian Standards. Although this tiny plastic clip may not seem like much, this is an important feature of your child car safety seat, and is NOT optional. They are on all new seats and provide support to the thin metal tongue, preventing it breaking, bending or moving and making it harder to depress, minimise the risk of the anchor hook becoming disconnected in ever day use and more importantly, under force, like during a crash. If you're missing your keeper clip, you'll notice just how easy it is to push to the top of the metal hook and even bend the metal strip in on your top tether hook. Many people don't realise it has broken or fallen off and sometimes people mistake it for protective packaging and remove it before installing the seat or some remove it to make a tricky hook-anchor connection a little easier. The Australian standard requires all Australian tethered car safety seats and tether extensions have these keeper clips. Sometimes the paint hits the paper perfectly and the shadow instantly looks like a shadow. It almost feels accidental. An accidental beautiful stroke, looking exactly, if not better than I could’ve imagined. This is the beauty of creating art. When I look back at some of my paintings, I almost don’t believe that I created them. Seemingly impossible attention to a detail I saw come from my mind perfectly onto the paper. Other times however, it just keeps missing. The shadow doesn’t look like a shadow; the shading isn’t quite right, the line not how I imagine it should be. Why is this? What am I doing differently? When you base your soup around the crisps you’ve found… part one. White Bean & Rosemary for PICKLED ONION Walkers. The soup: delicious. The crisps: delicious. The combo: not quite right. I’m not sure why. The soup, though made of beans and leftover mashed potatoes, is filling but not heavy. I got so much rosemary in there it’s filled the house, my nose, each spoonful with a delightful smell. I also threw in some leftover gravy so it wouldn’t be wasted and the results are DELICIOUS. INTRODUCING OUR 2024 PERFORMERS - at the Soundshell Backwater Backwater Is a Bluegrass band revisiting Girgarre under a new name. Mark Pottenger (mandolin) Rob Lewis (guitar) Andrew Barcham (bass) and Peter Reno (banjo). Backwater have been together for a couple of years concentrating on some of the lesser-known bands of the era, some traditional Bluegrass with all the passion and a little less of the slickness attributed to the Flatt and Scruggs type bands. Close harmonies and fine instrumentals are the hallmarks of this band. Gather your mates together for a great night out. Bring your chair, pack a blanket, drinks and nibbles.
