✨ Returning to movement after a C-section ✨ Dear mama, Your baby was born through cesarean section and you are a bit worried about going back to exercise? First things first, let me reassure you: you are not in a hurry! Priritise rest and recovery from birth. It's typically safe to start low-impact exercises like swimming, pilates, yoga once you've recovered from your c-section and have no more pain. When you are ready to move, you can usually return to the mat between 8 to 12 weeks post operation. Have a chat with your GP or women's health physio, they can make sure all is fine (especially if you have doubt) and we can go from there. There are many benefits - physical and mental - of practicing yoga after a c-section. In classes, we will work in a way to will help you to heal, and relax. We take our time. We prioritise the Dos and avoid the Don'ts. If you are worried, don't hesitate to get in touch. I am happy to let you know more about what the practice can look like for you. Take care. Week 34 has very much been up and down… we had a week “at uni” but to be honest we were only really there for one day lol so had a somewhat nice week off. Got our OSCE results in which was such a relief but at the same time we had our next assignment due. I’d say it’s quite rude how they’ve set this up considering we get our results at the same time as our next assignments being due lol. But! We remain optimistic and we get practicing with the next assignment because it’s a presentation along with an academic poster. I’ve done mine on the fetal heart and how it adapts to extra uterine life which I found super duper interesting to research. Any volunteers for me to present to would be much appreciated haha. I also went to my first bouldering session with one of the girls and had so much fun! Super duper excited to make it a regular thing.
