Bu filmde de ana karakter başkalarının gözündeki görünümleriyle anlatılıyordu. Kitabı okumayı uzun süredir istiyordum. Çünkü kapağı güzeldi. 🤓😌 Ancak kitabı okumak için gerekli olan o ittirici gücü de tam bulamamıştım. Boyumdan büyük bir kitap olduğunu mu düşünmüştüm - ki, ipucu, bunu düşünecek son kişiydim. Okumak mı istemiyordum, yeterince ilgimi mi çekmemişti? Hayır hayır hayır. Aksine, çok çekmişti. Ancak bazen beklemek gerekir. O zaman da sezgisel olarak bunu kavramışım neyse ki ve neyse ki, kitabı bugün okuduğumda, daha evvel kavrayamayacağım kendimle ilgili pek çok şeyi gerek sezgisel, gerek düşünsel olarak zihnime çektim. Kitapların da kendilerine has bir havası vardır ve o havayı soluduğumuz zaman dilimi, bence, önemli olabilir. Velhasıl kelam, kitabı çok sevdim. Pek çok yerini not aldım. Kitap, bir okuru olarak bana, kendi derinliklerimdeki, belki yerini bile bilmediğim, bazı pencereleri açmamda ilham oldu. İlgisini çekenlere kitabı öneriyorum. Hoşça ve kitaplarla kalın. 🤍
This was the final assignment for my character design workshop at @animationcollaborative and it’s what we spent the majority of class time doing through research and development. The assignment was to pick or create a story and make characters around that story. I picked a story that meant something to me and still holds a special place as one of the most inspiring and reassuring pieces of literature I ever read. Back in high school my English teacher @moddillon assigned her seniors to read Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, a story that takes a young Spanish shepherd named Santiago on a journey to discover his “personal legend”. Along the way he meets many characters until he meets “The Alchemist” in the desert. It’s an important book for anyone teenager to read, and it’s important for any adult struggling to achieve their goals for their life to read and to know there’s a purpose and that the universe conspires to make good things happen. I highly recommend it!! For the assignment I chose to mainly focus on developing Santiago and The Alchemist. I knew how I wanted these characters to be in terms of personality but it was really fun exploring how I wanted the characters to look, which is why I included some of the earlier ideas I had for these characters. I was inspired by films like Ben Hur, Aladdin and The Prince of Egypt among other sources. They all helped me guide me with coming up with these designs. I cannot thank @rrr_yaga enough for his patience and encouragement week after week in this class and reminding me my drawings do have merit, and off course for Mrs Dillion assigning the book all those years ago. Who knows maybe one day someone will have the bright idea to adapt this book into a series or movie someday. புத்தகம்: ரசவாதி ஆசிரியர் : பாலோ கொயலோ தமிழில் மொழிபெயர்ப்பு: நாகலட்சுமி சண்முகம் ரசவாதி எனக்கு மிகவும் பிடித்த புத்தகங்களில் ஒன்று. பொதுவாக மறுவாசிப்பில் அக்கறை கொள்ளாத நான் கடந்த எட்டு வருடங்களாக ,வருடத்துக்கு ஒரு முறை கண்டிப்பாக வாசித்துவிடும் புத்தகம். ஒவ்வொரு முறை வாசிக்கும் போதும் ஏதோ ஒரு விஷயம் புதிதாக புரிந்து கொண்டதாகத் தோன்றும். ஏதேனும் குழப்பமான மனநிலையில் வாசிக்கும் போது மனம் தெளிந்ததாகக் தோன்றும், மனம் மகிழ்ச்சியான சமயத்தில் வாசிக்கும் போது வேறு ஒரு கண்ணோட்டம் தோன்றும். இந்த புத்தகத்தை இதற்கு முன் ஆங்கிலத்தில் வாசித்துள்ளேன், ஒலி வடிவில் கேட்டுள்ளேன், தமிழில் வாசிப்பது இதுவே முதல் முறை. பயணத்தை விரும்பும் கதையின் நாயகன் சாண்டியாகோ, இடையானாக அதுவே காரணமாகிறது. ஸ்பெயினின் புல்வெளிகளில் தன் செம்மறியாட்டுக் கூட்டத்தை வழி நடத்திச் செல்கிறான். அவனுக்கு தொடர்ந்து வரும் ஒரு கனவு எகிப்தின் பிரமிடுகளுக்கு அருகில் ஒரு புதையல் இருப்பதாக கூறுகிறது. அதை நம்பி தன் செம்மறி ஆடுகளை விற்று பயணத்தை மேற்கொள்கிறான். வழியில் அவன் பணம் திருடு போகவே ஒரு படிக வியாபாரியின் கடையில் வேலைக்குச் சேர்கிறான். பின் தேவையான பணம் சேமித்தபின், பாலைவனத்தை கடந்து செல்லும் ஒரு குழுவோடு சகாரா பாலைவனத்தை கிடக்கிறான். வழியில் நிகழும் போர் காரணமாக ஒரு பாலைவனச் சோலையில் தங்குகிறான். அங்கு பாத்திமா என்ற பெண்ணை கண்டு காதல் கொள்கிறான். ஒரு ரசவாதியின் உதவியோடு மீண்டும் தன் பயணத்தை தொடங்குகிறான். ஆனால் வழியில் மேலும் பல சோதனைகளுக்கு ஆளாகிறான். அதற்கு விலையாக அவன் உயிரை எடுக்க காத்திருக்கிறது ஒரு கூட்டம். அந்த சோதனைகளை கடந்தானா ? தன் புதையலை அடைந்தானா ? இல்லை அந்த முயற்சியில் தோற்றானா? அவனுக்காக காத்திருக்கும் காதலியின் நிலை என்ன ஆனது? என்பன போன்ற கேள்விகளுக்கு சுவாரசியமாக விடையளிக்கும் புத்தகம். ஒருவர் தன் கனவுகளைத் தேடிச் செல்லும் போது எதிர்பாராத உதவிகளும் இன்னல்களும் பாதை நெடுகிலும் இருக்கும் என்பதையும், அதை அடைய முடிவதும் முடியாததும் அவரவர் மனத்திண்மை பொருத்தது என்பதையும் அழகாக விவரித்திருத்கிறது புத்தகம். ஆங்கில வாசிப்பில் இருந்த சில வார்த்தைப் பிரயோகங்கள் தந்த ஒருவித சிலிர்ப்பு தமிழில் மிக சாதாரணமாக எழுதியிருப்பதாகத் தோன்றியது. ரசவாதி புத்தகத்தின் மாயாஜாலங்கள் தமிழ் மொழிபெயர்ப்பில் தொலைந்து விட்டதாகத் தோன்றியது. #thealchemist #paulocoelho #rasavathi #nagalakshmishanmugam #tamilbookstagrammer #tamillovers #bibliophile #bibliophilediaries #bookstagramfeature #mybookfeatures
Book review- (borrowed from library hence shabby appearance) ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho. I both started and finished this book on the same day and that’s all you need to know about how good this book is. I know I’ve said it before when reviewing books, but believe me when I say that I simply could not put this book down. It was so interesting and I had to keep turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. Moreover, Coelho’s style of writing was just so beautiful. But what is the story about? The story tells the tale of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who travels from his homeland in Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of a treasure buried near the Pyramids. Along the way he meets a man who calls himself a king and an alchemist who show Santiago the path to reach his full potential in life. The story of Santiago is a testament to transforming your life through your visions and dreams… a philosophical story full of rich symbolism it teaches you that everybody has a purpose in life and that purpose has been sent by God himself. It also teaches you to let go of things that do not serve you because the future usually has better things in store. Everybody has their own ordained treasure and no one knows what the treasure will be… the reader soon finds out that what starts out as the pursuit of worldly goods ends in the realisation that the treasure is within all of us. Also, as an Arab, I absolutely adored this book because it was full of Arabic history and stories. It speaks of Spanish history also and about the Moorish wars. Just started to read Paulo Coelho's 'The Alchemist' and arrived to the middle of the book. Love the story so far. It's a beautiful fable about following your dream. The fairytale like story starts by describing the life of a shepherd boy who loves to travel around the Andalusian landscapes and villages with his sheep flock. In one of the villages he falls in love with a merchant daughter with whom he loves to talk about the many places he has already been to. But then one day he has a dream about travelling to Egypt, seeing the Pyramids and finding a hidden treasure. An old king advises the shepherd boy to leave Andalusia and follow his dream to find the treasure.
