Today we celebrate our Student Volunteers!! We are so proud of the heart these kids bring to the menstrual equity movement!! Student leaders from Lawrence to Duxbury have contacted us to ask how they could be part of the solution. They have done their own research and created access programs in their schools. They have advocated for the I AM bill by visiting the State House and writing their elected officials. They are working tirelessly to care for their peers while we wait for legislation to pass!! Sometimes, instead of shedding gradually, the body ejects the lining of your uterus is all at once. This is called a decidual cast, and it basically looks like the inside of your womb. For all bleeders, the challenges can be daunting. Painful periods, shame, and stigma, leaking mishaps, or not having period products readily available are shared struggles many of us face. Now, let's talk about the harsh truth. Financial constraints can magnify these shared struggles. Imagine not being able to afford period products, having to keep them on longer than recommended, or resorting to makeshift alternatives. Accessing decent healthcare, affording pain relief, or even the cost of washing and replacing bedding or underwear due to leaks. It's a reality for far too many. The choice between buying period products or putting food on the table shouldn't even be a choice, it's sickening!
