I will spare this from being a novel, but we hit such a big milestone this month. 🥹 When I started my biz I was on a maternity leave from my RN job, with an 8 month old baby boy. I was in the mall with a month to month lease because the manager Sandy pulled for me with the out of state owners. Since then my business has grown and of course my family. We raised my babies and my business simultaneously (like so many other amazing mamas juggling dreams, job, and kids!). I was always home with them. I worked my business in the cracks of my days. Honestly almost since starting, my business has stayed just above survival mode. We moved downtown to our gorgeous space, then eventually my dream location by Caribou. We of course accomplished a lot but it was always a very difficult and fine juggle. There were no office hours carved out for me or alone time. Fast forward to now...10 years later. For the first time ever they all have school. No more naps. Our 2nd littlest wild is in Kinder and our littlest is in PreK for 2.5 hours a day. For 2.5 hours a day I get to work, focus, and pour into my work and dreams. I would never ever ever change a thing and am so thankful for those years. That being said I was absolutely running on fumes and feel like we just crossed the finish line of a decade long marathon😴. We are still very much running a daily race, but those 2.5 hours mean so much to me to have because then I can give my kids a much more present and patient mama. I am almost glad that chapter of motherhood was sooo long, exhausting, joyful, and fulfilling because it makes moving forward exciting and happy. I am able to give myself and my business what my heart has desired for quite a while. Our mornings are chaos, but we are doing it! So, I have so many big things and dreams I get to share this month. || freedom || One of the best parts of RV life is the ability to travel! We have so much freedom as we can store our home and explore other cities and countries! || space || We receive the most amount of comments about how do we stand living together in such a small space? I always find that a bit odd considering how much I love my family and love being with them. Keeping things real as I always try to do in this little corner of Instagram, there’s a few key things that help us thrive and let’s be honest survive as a family of five on the road in such close quarters. 👉🏻 schedule time for YOU just YOU 👉🏻 date nights this doesn’t mean you have to go anywhere, it can be after the kids are in bed and right at your RV 👉🏻separate dates with your kids 👉🏻continue to do the things YOU love! You’ll find that being on the road you end up doing a lot of things together, which is great, but don’t miss out on the things you once did individually 👉🏻take advantage of all of the outdoor space you have If you are thinking about RV life save these tips! || dining table || The first piece of furniture I switched in our rv was the dining area! Swipe to see the before 😳 I really disliked that the old dining table came out to our walk way. || income || This is a huge question that we always get. How do we make money on the road? Although, this is a much longer conversation than an Instagram post, I thought I’d share the main way I make income on the road. I feel lucky that I have been able to take my professional experience and degree in marketing to help market us as a family while on the road- truly creating a dream job for myself! MOST IMPORTANTLY! You do not need to be Instagram famous to make money on Instagram! You just DO NOT! I mean what does that even mean 🤷🏼♀️🤦♀️ The area I love to focus on is called “content creation” this is creating content for brands! Then they use my images or videos on their social media platforms or their own collateral. Why do I love this so much? I get to create it, send it and forget it! I’m not tied to posting or getting likes or comments! If you are on the road and wanting to work with brands, I say go for it and do not get hung up on your followers! Brands know quality! || New Mexico || Our top spot last year was New Mexico! We can’t say enough just how much we loved it! This small hike right outside of Santa Fe hits my 80/20 rule! 80% non popular hikes and destinations 20% popular spots The more time we spend on the road the more our 80% becomes higher 🤣 What about you? || pets || RV life with pets is definitely a way to make your home on wheels feel more like home! When we decided to go full time #rvlife one of my major concerns was the dogs! I’m sharing some great tips over on the blog that have really truly helped us! Here are a few to get you started! 🐶 Have a designated pet area outside! This really helps with those critical times setting up or breaking down! Dogs definitely feel our energy so if your stressed, they feel it! 🐶 Finding #rvresort with trails, dog parks and designated walking areas. 🐶 Creating comfort zones! Just like your dog may have had a favorite chair or couch at your home chances are they will find that area within your RV. 🐶 Be prepared with foods, medications and animal supplies. Depending on where you travel you may not always find a pet store! Using companies like Chewy @chewy have been a life saver for us! Head to the blog for my full write up and tips and tricks! || Zion || The most underrated part of @zionnps is the east side of the park! Of course the Instagram worthy hikes (and I admit we did them) are spectacular but they come with a price, CROWDS! And I’m talking waiting in line to see views type of crowds. Once you pass through the tunnel over to the east side you open up yourself to an experience of @zionnps that I feel was the best. 🥾 hiking trails right off the road 🥾 secluded slot canyons and amazing little caves/tunnels 🥾lots of wildlife due to less people We spent days hiking the east side with no one in sight! With over 22k people visiting daily to be able to have locations with no one felt dreamy. Add this to your must sees this year and follow along for more adventures!
