#SacredSunday #Beyonce got me feeling grateful 🙏🏿 for #WashDay. I started my loc journey 10 years ago as of September. There are many reasons why, for starters, all of the women I was inspired by had locs. From #LaurynHill to #ToniMorrison and, of course, Erykah Badu. There is still very little representation of locs in media, though faux locs are all the rave and their various rendentions, which I am here for 🙌🏿. However, there is still little products created for us loc'd ladies in the market. It probably took me about 6 years to learn how to care and love on my locs. Cha Tip: Do Less! My curls have now become my signature style, my hair doesn't like to be styled in anything tight or up. Bonus the curls act as a protective style, giving the illusion of shorter hair. I use to cut my locs every New Year's. The last picture 👉🏿is from my last haircut ✂️ 3 years ago and also the photo used for my illustration by @hello.sola in the book 'For The Color'. My hair is now the longest and heaviest it's ever been. Sanden has toured extensively, and has shared the stage with Jonathan Richman, Elliott Smith, Rhett Miller (the Old 97s), Ian Moore, The Tragically Hip, The Apples in Stereo, Salim Nourallah, Huey Lewis and the News, Foreigner, and Willie Nelson. Erik is known for innovative performances that blend visual art, music, and humor. He began writing creative non-fiction during the pandemic and this prose work is finding its way into his music. Erik will share how spirituality impacts his creative life as well as three of his songs.
