Lone Pine was one of the coolest places I’ve visited in CA so far 😍 Hundreds of Western movies and John Wayne movies were filmed here (Django Unchained, Lone Ranger, Gladiator) and there’s so much history in this little town. Alabama Hills is about 10 minutes away from the little downtown area which has some good diners and it’s own film history museum. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is the iconic shot in Alabama Hills just off of Movie Road but it’s not the easiest to find 🙈 definitely recommend downloading a map ahead of time since there’s no service in the park! I had to go old school and try to line up where the view was from referencing pics, and finally found it just past the Eye of Alabama Hills Arch to the right. Hemingway is due for his one-year checkup and shots, and Harper is going because she’s grown so much the past few months that we need to know how much she weighs to make sure she gets the right flea and tick treatment based on her weight. ☀️Suns out & So is everything else🤘🏾 🎧🎶 Part 2 🎵In the sun we danced to Jauz, Whipped cream, Lick, Dombresky, Nostalgix and more across 6 stages. At night it was Slushii, Noizu, Kayzo, Eprom B2B GJones, SaymyName, Wax Motif and more. I danced so hard that I’m pretty sure I left with Whiplash and the unexplained bruises on my legs 😆 🎵Of all the sets we saw, RL grime on Day 1 and Kayzo on Day 2 had to be my favorites. A close 3rd had to be the nasty dub sounds of Eprom & GJones (thanks @scoobymau5 for recommending them!). 🎵This year I also have to shoutout @insomniacevents for finally making the layout of the stages easy to navigate unlike at the Auto Speedway in 2019. In addition, I loved how unique each stage was (you could tell the Green Stage was definitely built for the sounds of hardstyle,dubstep and other hard music). Each stage had an easy-access VIP area and the pathways between stages were shaded & had misters. 🎵Between sets, I give massive props to all the friends I ran into, new friends I made, and the current friends who made sure we all left safely. Thank you @cuethedanger for the backscratches haha , @hexagon for making sure @_eresmiamia was safely in, @rsedwards808 for not letting me fall EVER & for the dope pics, and so many more…. It was wildly hot but not as hot as we were across the 2.5 days of partying in honor of birthdays, life, and the fact that we all made it through the lockdown. 🎵It was wonderful being together as the Big Daddy Crew for the first time in what felt like years, starting with a bday party for our dear friend, the Big Daddy himself. Then across Saturday & Sunday we put in miles of walking from stage to stage, stopping to say hi to friends we hadn’t seen since 2019, meeting new friends, and just being a part of shenanigans (check the next post). I never knew that in 2021 would bring so many life changing experiences and beautiful lessons. I remember in September 2020 I felt like a walking zombie when my friend took me to Newport Beach Pier. I met a fisherman who taught me to fish by the pier and encouraged me to live life after a devastating life changing event. Last Saturday- I had the best time going ocean fishing.
