Happy #1 to this little love bug! She was a little unsure at the start of her session, but we were able to get some sweet smiles from that adorable face! She loved her books and goldfish and didn’t mind telling us “no” if she wasn’t feeling something LOL. We sang Mickey Mouse Clubhouse songs and laughed at all of her facial expressions. I have been studying Biblical suffering lately because, well, that’s obviously the season I am in. And if you’ve ever lived through a season of suffering, you probably understand all the questions that come up. “How can Jesus want to give us an abundant life when this doesn’t feel like abundant living?” “Is this it for me? Does the suffering last forever?” “Where is God during the suffering?” These are just a few of the questions that I’ve had to wrestle with. And while I may not have alllll the answers, I have found one thing to be true during all the hard: Jesus sits next to me through it all. He never leaves or forsakes me. I also have been learning about how Jesus Himself came face to face with his limitations while hanging on a cross. And if the Son of Man had humanly limits, why wouldn’t I? I am not my chronic illnesses. I am not my diagnosises. But they are a large part of my story, and my responsibility is to keep giving it all back to God and be willing to surrender to His greater plan. I can keep asking for healing, AND praise Him even if the answer remains, “Not yet.” While I learn to accept my bodily limitations, I can choose Joy. I can also choose bitterness and rage, but that gets me nowhere fast. I can feel every feeling that comes along with the suffering season AND I can use the feelings to propel me forward through the grief cycle, into a healing cycle. If you’re in a suffering season, I want to just encourage you to keep going. The number one temptation is to give up. It’s too hard. But when you suffer with Jesus, He makes the cup a little sweeter…a little less painful. He doesn’t cause the pain, but He will give purpose to the pain. Hang in there. Endurance and compassion will be the parting gifts of the suffering season. 💕

Disneyland blues are kicking in. It's an absolute dream to take our children to Disneyland Paris. We did so much in 3 days.
