I rewatched the film "The Covenant" yesterday. I've always liked this film! The Covenant is a dark edgy film that puts an intriguing twist on witchcraft. The awesome script by J.S. Cardone has a grim, moody atmosphere and has some cool mythology around it with some unexpected twists and turns. The film has some interesting themes on destiny, addiction, and brotherhood. The action sequences are stylized and pretty exciting to watch, especially when the slow motion kicks in. The film has a pretty good ensemble cast, including Steven Strait, Taylor Kitsch, Sebastian Stan, Chace Crawford, Toby Hemingway, Laura Ramsey, Jessica Lucas, Kyle Schmid, and Wendy Crewson. The film has some fantastic art direction, set decoration, costume design, and production design. The film is well-edited by Nicolas De Toth and has some impressive cinematography by Pierre Gill. It also has a cool soundtrack. "𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗦 𝗩𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗢𝗘𝗦" Es navidad, esa época del año donde se ven películas de navidad o alguna que satisfaga los deseos del más pequeño de la casa, pues me encontraba yo viendo un vídeo de #tiktok y me ha aparecido una escena de esta película, la selección de entre héroe o currito, y mi hijo de repente ha venido corriendo para ver que era por lo que decidió ver la película. Así que me puse #disney y para adelante. #mikemitchell ese director que no le ha ido del todo bien que años antes dirigió la comedia #gigolo y no gustó, en el 2005 se pone a las riendas de un proyecto de Disney, una película sobre superhéroes. #skyhigh es sin duda una película perfecta para verla una tarde en familia. Con unos efectos visuales pésimos, un funcionamiento de la historia sin sentido y forzado, una dirección más que mejorable y un ritmo irregular rozando lo absurdo donde en ningún momento logra mantenerse. Por lo que he visto en algunos sitios está película ya es un clásico de Disney, o quizás todo lo que toca Disney y pasen unos años es un clásico. No lo sé. Antes de la llegada de nuestros #superhéroes de #marvel el mundo había conocido pocas películas sobre superhéroes o adaptaciones al cine de comic, en el 2003 llegó Hulk pero a nadie gustó, no fue hasta el 2005 que llegaron, entre otras #loscuatrofantasticos #sincity #electra o está de la que vengo a hablar #skyhigh sobre una escuela de superhéroes que al final todo se complica y deben detener al villano de turno. Una historia común, basica muy Disney, donde todos son felices y comen perdices, lo que también dejo a mucba gente indiferente. Menos que llegó Nolan y su Batman para cambiar la historia del cine de superhéroes en ese mismo 2005 con #batmanbeagins #michaelangarano es el protagonista de esta película donde personalmente nos destaca, bueno ni el ni nadie del reparto que completan #stevenstrait quién por cierto aparece en la película #10000ac la preciosísima y amor de la adolescencia de un servidor y de mas de uno #meryelizabethwinstead quién su interpretación es malísima. Kvällens superhjältegrej; Sky High (2005) @disneyplusse Det känns som att den här kan ha krypit under radarn för de flesta - och egentligen, varför inte. Det är inte en fantastisk och livsomvälvande film. Det är en high school tonårsrulle, med allt vad det innebär i form av de populära mot nördarna, skolbalen och rivaliteter. -Twisten är att Sky High är en skola för superhjältebarn. Sådana vars föräldrar (eller förälder) har superhjältekrafter, och själva utvecklat förmågor utöver det vanliga. På skolan sorteras de in i "Hero" eller "Sidekick", beroende på hur imponerande deras förmågor är. (Tänk: Hogwarts, med Slytherin som bestämmer reglerna). Filmen följer Will Stronghold, son till de mest berömda superhjältarna i världen, The Commander och Jetstream. Han ska precis till att börja på Sky High, men ingen - inte ens hans stolta föräldrar - vet att han ännu inte har några krafter alls. Mike Mitchell har regisserat den här färgglada, ofarliga familjefilmen, som har en tydlig Disneystämpel. Inget ont i det dock, förvånande ofta är den riktigt rolig, och även om jag såklart ömmar för alla underdogs och outsiders, så är det ett faktum att sidekick-eleverna är ett skönt gäng. Michael Angarano är Will Stronghold, och bland hans kompisar finns Danielle Panabaker, Nicholas Braun, Kelly Vitz och Dee Jay Daniels. Steven Strait, Mary Elizabeth Winstead och Kevin Heffernan har större roller, och Kurt Russel & Kelly Preston är Commander & Jetstream. Min favorit är, föga förvånande, Bruce Campbell som Coach Boomer, superhjälten Sonic Boom, vars uppgift är att - med drypande sarkasm och en ohälsosamt stor dos elak elitism - bestämma vem som ska få bli Hjälte, och vem som ska bli Sidekick. -Och han älskar sitt jobb! Antingen gillar man den här, eller så tycker man att den är skitfånig. #AsuntosDeFamilia (2009), con Andy García, Julianna Margulies, Emily Mortimer, Steven Strait… Comedia divertida y tierna. Enredos de familia llevados al extremo para explotar el lado cómico sin herir sensibilidades. El guion está perfectamente rematado sin dejar, casi, ningún cabo suelto (¿qué le depara la vuelta a Molly?). Lo mejor de todo: las interpretaciones de García, Margulies, Mortimer y Strait (y en general de todos). García domina lo que le pongan delante, me gusta cuando hace comedia y llega el momento de ponerse serio y mostrar su cara más sensible y reflexiva. #Mortimer, ya lo he dicho en otras publicaciones, me gusta lo que voy descubriendo de ella, y aquí sigue gustándome su interpretación de un personaje que, de alguna manera, me ha recordado a la Sylvia (Anita Ekberg) de La dolce vita. Margulies (todavía la recuerdo en #Urgencias) divertida y sensible actuación. A Strait me lo he creído, le ha ido bien esto de hacer de nexo familiar. Agradable, divertida y emotiva. Cien minutos de entretenimiento calmado. #CityIsland (2009), with #AndyGarcía, #JuliannaMargulies, #EmilyMortimer, #StevenStrait… A funny and tender comedy. Family entanglements pushed to the limit to exploit de comic side without offending sensibilities. The script is perfectly finished, leaving almost no loose ends (what does Molly’s return have in store for her?). Best of all: the performances of all the actors in general. Andy García is up to everything, I like him when he’s doing comedy and when it’s time to get serious and show his more sensitive and reflective side. #Mortimer, as I’ve said in other publications, I like what I’m discovering about her, and here I continue to like her interpretation of a character who, in some ways, reminds me of #Sylvia ( #AnitaEkberg) in #LaDolceVita. #Margulies (I remember her from #ER…) funny and sensitive performance. In a cinema landscape overly populated by superhero IP, “Sky High” (2005) soars above and beyond thanks to its overwhelming charm, enjoyability and creativity. If you are going to make a superhero movie, at least go the extra mile to add an extra layer of fun or interest like this movie does. How many of us growing up DESPERATELY wished we choice have gone to Sky High? Sure, I would have been kicked out for using my peers for evil but I still wanted to go! I’m SHOCKED, Disney has never made a sequel. There should be like four of these movies by now.
