It's official! I am thrilled to announce that I will be attending The University of North Texas to earn a Bachelors in Music Education starting this fall!I've wanted to go to UNT ever since attending their TMEA preparatory camp last Summer. The students and faculty were so incredibly warm and welcoming, and I immediately felt like I had a home. It feels extremely surreal to be pursuing what has been such a big dream of mine, and sometimes it's hard to believe it's happening. But I am so excited to begin this next chapter in a place I love. Over the last couple of years I have met some wonderful friends and mentors who are attending UNT or who live in the DFW area, and I am so happy that I get to be so close to so many people I love. I also can't make this post without mentioning my mentors (you know who you are) that have guided me through this long process of applying and auditioning, and my mentors who are going to continue to stay with me throughout college and beyond. Bon jeudi on va pas se mentir le crowd était mou as Fuck et ça rageait quand on commençait à bouger .Vendredi et samedi par contre, on aurait dit un vrai show made in USA. Another great week in Park City❄️ Grateful for these good times with good friends 🙏🏻 Had an absolutely amazing day snowmobiling with Backcountry Snowmobiling @snowmobile_parkcity snowmobiling out in Coalville, Utah. Three hour tour through the magnificent 40,000 acre Haynes Ranch, taking us up to 9,000 ft with awesome views of the mountains and Aspen groves. Our guides Ben and John were excellent. Pointing out three moose and two huge Elk herds up along the ridge. CBAW has partnered with Capital One to create two art installations displayed at their headquarters in McLean, VA. The first installation, "Mission Belonging" by Veteran Artist Leslie Renn, is a 4.5'x37.5' exhibit showcasing the deep connections between military and non-military communities. It uses hand-stitched cords on gauze to symbolize the intertwined roots of shared experiences, values, and aspirations, emphasizing the importance of these two groups in shaping society. "Mission Belonging" invites viewers to appreciate diverse perspectives uniting and symbolizes moments of collaboration, understanding, and support between military and non-military individuals. Alongside "Mission Belonging" is a companion photography and poetry piece titled "This is Where I Belong: Veterans Creating Community." It features powerful images photographed by Aqsa Hussain and Anthony Palliparambil during CBAW's summer in-person event, A Day of Belonging (co-presented by @strathmorearts.) These photographs coupled with lines of poetry written by community members, showcase the self-discovery and camaraderie of veterans from different eras and branches, together with civilians, channeling their experiences into creative expression. They reflect the power of creativity, unity, and shared experiences in fostering belonging in an inclusive community, perfectly complementing Leslie Renn's "Mission Belonging" artwork. The exhibit is closed to the public, but we wanted to share a few images of it with the wider CBAW community.
