The Secret Lives of the Doyenne of Didsbrook evolved from a short story listed in a Fiction Factory competition in 2019. I loved the characters so much that I decided to weave their lives into a novel. Letterbox flowers — have you received any yet? 💐 The last year changed how we gift and receive flowers (including #treatyourself ones). We increasingly send those fragile things via post and I‘m fascinated with it! Alongside with this comes a shift towards increased attention on the flowers themselves. No longer being in the presence of the person gifting, the flowers become a representative of a kind thought, the link to a loved one. ‘Tube’ is an interactive installation which allows visitors to explore their body in a temporary space. The work consists of lining fabric, hula hoops, and robe. I exhibited this piece as part of ‘Silly Rabbit’ with the @tragicom_collective at the @whitespace76 Gallery in Edinburgh in 2017. Those were days when touch and being close to others wasn’t worth a second thought. I’m now working on how to create spacial experiences without triggering anxieties around touching surfaces. So interesting how our lives changed. While Germany has brilliant exhibitions open to the public, Scotland is only slowly getting there. .
