De parkieten en de tekst komen weer uit dat vintage en supergrote, dikke vogelboek. En de bloementak komt uit een groot vintage bloemenboek. ( boeken gekocht bij @ellens.littletreasures ) Het scrappapier is van Maja Design. Zwart decopapier. Een goudkleurige rand met embossingpoeder van Victoria reliëf poeder. Verder afgewerkt met stempelinkt van Archival. De envelop gestempeld met een varen stempel met Memento en Adirondack stampingink. Nog een postzegel gemaakt met een diecut van @hippiestippie 💌 en een parkiet, een ticket en poststempels erop. And she really liked it. The parakeets and the text come from that vintage and super large, thick bird book. And the flower branch comes from a large vintage flower book. (books purchased from @ellenslittletreasures) The scrapbook paper is from @majadesigninsweden Black decorative paper. A gold-colored edge with embossing powder from Victoria relief powder. Further finished with Archival stamp ink. The envelope was stamped with a fern stamp using Memento and Adirondack stamping ink. Lil throwback to my 2022-2023 hyperfixation - collecting, converting & formatting vintage (pre 1900) illustrations into printable colouring pages. In case anyone had looked at my Etsy store and wondered what the digital collections/colouring page categories are about, I made a bunch of digital-download sets as a way to help archive old prints/make new colouring pages/have something to offer international customers that doesn't cost $40 to ship out of New Zealand (international courier prices are absolutely killer). I don't sell very many of them but am still proud of the hundreds of hours that went into making these collections, that then inspired me to illustrate my own colouring book - this project was the precursor and made me fall in love with colouring & illustrating again. I am still working on collecting vintage illustrations for a few new sets in the future. Magic In A Bottle - #doodlewashApril2024 For our prompt of “Perfume Bottle” today, I sketched three vintage perfume bottles in my favorite colors. It’s been awhile since I’ve sketched glass and I now remember why I enjoy it so much. It’s fun to emulate all of the light and shadows that reflect in a glassy object. It’s a rather therapeutic experience. Though I’m not entirely sure of the various scents that these bottles contain, since I made them up, so feel to image your own. There are so many scents that bring back memories for me. I still remember my grandmother’s perfume and each time I smell something similar it takes me back to those wonderful moments together. Apparently, smells that bring on these memories are called “odor-linked,” which doesn’t sound particularly appealing at all really. But it’s definitely true that a particular scent can map itself in a way that strengthens our memory of a person or a particular event. For me, it happens a lot with food or simply the smell of a particular food cooking.
