People are still questioning why this pavilion didn't't last? Wonders of Life 1989-2007 From October 19th 1989 to January 1st 2007 Epcot formally had a pavilion called Wonders of Life which was sponsored by MetLife from opening day which was October 19th 1989 to June of 2001. After June of 2001 MetLife decided not to renew the sponsorship for Wonders of Life Pavilion. Nearly 3 years after MetLife renewed their sponsorship Disney decided that in January of 2004 that Wonders of Life Pavilion will become officially a seasonal operation. The only time the pavilion would be open for guests would be roughly when the other stuff around Epcot (formally known as Epcot Center) hit capacity during high spring months like spring break & then eventually the holiday season crowds. It was reported in November of 2006 the pavilion was under operational til January 1st of 2007. Then on January 1st of 2007 the pavilion with no word from Disney about the official reason. But everyone keeps questioning to this day why this pavilion didn't stay for guests to enjoy like.... Why didn't Wonders of Life Pavilion stay as a pavilion? Was it hard to find another sponsorship for the pavilion since MetLife didn't renew their sponsorship? Was there a lot of refurbishment that had to be done either for Body Wars or Cranium Command or even both? Did this pavilion throughout the course when it opened got negative feedback from guests regarding some or all the attractions that were in the building? All these questions still haven't been answered to this day and it has been a mystery. Will these questions people may have been questioning the answers will be answered or will remain as a mystery? Wait what? Disney went full PG route on this & not family friendly what? Huh? On October 30th 1989 over at a defunct pavilion over at Epcot called Wonders of Life Pavilion opened to the public for the first time ever. One of the attractions at Wonders of Life Pavilion had a 16 minute short film called The Making of Me. The show was hosted by Martin Short with the story written and directed by Glenn Gardon Caron. Before the attraction became The Making of Me it was originally planned to be named before opening day It's Our Baby til it was changed to The Making of Me. In this 16 minute short film Martin Short tells the story to guests on how we as people were born. He was explaining to the audience how he's parents met during the course of their lives from at a school dance in highschool to getting married to going on a honeymoon to having their first child. The film also was explaining to guests about how the process from fertilization between the sperm & egg cell from an animated segment that only lasted about 1 minute 30 seconds. The attraction along with everything else in the Wonders of Life Pavilion closed all together on January 1st 2007. During the 2007 season for the Food and Wine Festival the theater was all covered up for no guests to see by a curtain. The following year in 2008 the show build was visible for guests to see but the show wasn't available for guests to view again. In 2008 instead of playing Making of Me short film in that theater they were playing Seasons of the Vine that was previously shown over in Disney California Adventure during Food and Wine. During the Flower & Garden festival the theater was renamed to The Garden Theater. The Body Wars Model! This is the epidermis tier. This is what's under your skin. And this the first thing you get to see in body wars! This is another attraction I love. I never got to experience it. Because I never knew it existed. A youtuber called this the "grossest attraction." That was by OffhandDisney. But.. no, that's not true. This is actually the most epic and creative attraction made by Disney Imgineering! And that's the fact jack!!! Extremely creative and, you can dislike me for saying this but it's a truthful fact, better than star tours. And of course I love star tours too! I don't hate it. DAY 91: When I was around 12 years old, my dad surprised me with a trip to Walt Disney World. 💗 We visited all three Disney parks (yup, just 3!) and one of my favorite memories was a cute little show in Epcot called Cranium 🧠Command. I’ve seen this show once... just ONCE in my life, yet that show was so incredibly memorable to me. It featured a 12 year old boy (already I’m connecting with this kid and his age) who was simply trying to figure his school day out and battling all the challenges that went along with it. It featured many actors who I kind of recognized (George Wendt, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey, Charles Grodin....) and I was so intrigued by the show and how it taught me (in a fun way) how the brain and body worked. Cranium Command lands itself in the number 9️⃣ spot on my final countdown. Sadly we all had to say goodbye to the show in January of 2007. RIP Buzzy. I've been lucky enough to visit the former Wonders of Life VIP lounge a handful of times, but I hadn't been in the second room off the main area, where I found this fun sign. I cropped it, but it's actually pretty huge and takes up half the wall. The lounge must've been fun in its hey day.
