Our first stop in Indonesia was the island of Lombok. Known for its amazing surfing spots, beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere. We spent an amazingly relaxed week here exploring the island on the scooter, finding untouched beaches, amazing indonesian food and even a few days of surfing. The locals were so friendly and many of them were incredible surfers, paddling out to the waves rolling over a shallow reef, putting us to shame using a longtail boat to get out 😆. To top it off we were fortunate to join @projecthiu on one of their amazing snokelling with sharks trip. This was an amazing experience. We were take out on an ex shark fishing boat, with local fishermen who had incredible experience and knowledge of where to find these beautiful creatures. This project began to help reduce the amount fisherman needed to head out to fish these endangered sharks, just to make a living. Every penny goes to helping creating a different form on income for the fishermen also reducing the amount of shark fishing that is taken place. #backpacker #backpacking #indonesia #lombok #beach #shark #snorkeling #hiking
