LOLA (Rainer Werner Fassbinder, 1981) The image of post-war Germany that Rainer Werner Fassbinder composes in Lola is remarkably distinct from the 1905 novel that provided its source material, and yet the tragic romance at its centre nevertheless carries across the twentieth century as a timeless fable of sacrifice and degraded honour. For the original author Heinrich Mann, schoolteacher Raat is an authoritarian figure falling to the liberal values of cabaret singer Lola Lola, rigidly abiding by conservative beliefs that are more likely to break before they bend. Josef von Sternberg remained largely faithful in his 1930 adaptation The Blue Angel too, even as he shifted the time frame forward 20 years to the Weimar Republic. Within his 1981 reinvention of the modern fable though, Fassbinder shows no interest in such black-and-white morality, grinding the steadfast integrity of our righteous protagonist down to a weary resignation through a slew of moral ordeals. Can the prosperous reconstruction of West Germany in the 1950s justify the corrupt dealings making it possible? Is noble building commissioner Herr von Bohm right to stand in the way of those crooked bureaucrats if their long-term goals are effectively aligned with his? At what point should one place their personal desire for love and security over their code of honour, and is such a sacrifice truly worth it? As complications arise within this tangled web of politics, Bohm and his sweetheart Marie-Luise find that they all come down to a single, inevitable decision – to remain loyal to one’s convictions and lose everything, or to submissively fall in line with the status quo. Concede protagonismo a figuras femeninas en películas en las que lo político y lo íntimo se dan la mano. “Rosa Luxemburgo” es un ejemplo, no el mejor, pero sí uno que sigue esa línea y desvela la admiración de la cineasta hacia la figura histórica de la cofundadora del Partido Socialdemócrata del Reino de Polonia, el periódico “Bandera roja” y de la Liga Espartaquista —germen del Partido Comunista Alemán— y también hacia la mujer que se enamora y sufre desengaños, la que debe asumir la pérdida, la que establece lazos de amistad al tiempo que se niega a rendirse. 簡單講幾句之《#達利慾望之謎》 「達利的人生和事業橫跨 60 年，要將這麼長的時間濃縮成一部兩小時的電影，這幾乎是不可能的。因此，我們決定要縮小範圍，鎖定特定的時期，專注在達利的私生活，而不只是他的藝術生涯。」編劇John C. Pred FEST-ovom publikom 2023. godine, nemačkoj glumačkoj divi, Barbari Sukovoj, uručeno je priznanje počasni Beogradski pobednik za poseban doprinos filmskoj umetnosti. Statuetu Beogradskog pobednika gošći je uručio umetnički direktor FEST-a, Jugoslav Pantelić, rekavši da je privilegija imati Barbaru Sukovu za gošću festivala. - Jedno je dobiti priznanje za ulogu, ali je sasvim drugačija stvar biti nagrađen za dopinos filmu. To je šira i veća stvar - navela je Sukova, dodavši da je film umetnost koju ne stvara samo jedan čovek: - Želim da odam priznanje brojnim rediteljima i scenaristima, glumcima i snimateljima, kostimografima i šminkerima, kompozitorima, svim divnim ljudima sa kojima sam imala priliku da sarađujem i svi su oni stajali u pozadni mog uspeha. Imala sam sreće da radim sa divnim timovima i zahvalna sam filmu što mi je pružio toliko uživanja i radosti. Privilegija je imati festival poput ovog. Dolazeći na FEST videla sam ljude na aerodromu i u restoranima zagledane u svoje telefone. Pandemija nas je otuđila, navikli smo da sedimo u svojim domovima i gledamo filmove ili TV serije. Zato bioskopi postaju gotovo sveta mesta na kojimaimamo privilegiju da filmove gledamo zajedno, zajedno da se smejemo, zajedno da plačemo, gde smo povezani i da mozemo da govorimo o filmu - rekla je Sukova i naglasila: - Moja želja je da idemo u bioskope, da mladi reditelji dobiju priliku da snimaju filmove i da ne ostanemo zaključani u sobama - zaključila je Barbara Sukova kazavši da jedva čeka da kaže sinu Viktoru da je dobila još jednog Pobednika. Link in my stories and bio. 🆂🅴🅰🆂🅾🅽: 9/10. In delving into the 2018 fourth and final season of 12 Monkeys, I'm inclined to applaud Terry Matalas with an enthusiastic "take a bow." Initially, skepticism loomed over this reboot venture, as these endeavours often stumble in the shadow of the originals. Yet, Matalas and co-creator Travis Fickett defied the odds, fashioning a narrative that not only paid homage to the source material but also crafted its own distinctive world. As Matalas takes the solo reins in season four, the series ascends to new heights. Each episode unfolds with a magnetic pull, keeping me captivated without resorting to the cliché "on the edge of my seat" trope. It's a testament to Matalas's storytelling prowess. The main cast, firing on all cylinders, injects vitality into their characters. Emily Hampshire's Jennifer, a perennial standout, continues to impress, but it's Todd Stashwick's Deacon who steals the show. From his debut in season one to his prominence in season four, Stashwick transforms Deacon into the series' shining star. His evolution is both riveting and unexpected.
