Esto da lugar a que, un día, en vez de poner pintura, recorte un trozo de tela metálica y, a modo de “collage”, lo ponga sobre el fondo. The 1980s were about fun!🪩 Eyeliner, dark eye shadow, bold colors, glossy lipstick, bodysuits, leg warmers, permed hair and shoulder pads were the new fashionable styles. There was no Internet, no cell phones, and MTV debuted music videos that brought a new dimension to one of the best musical periods in history. At that time, no one embodied the 80s better than Joan Collins. One of the most beautiful and famous women in America, if not the world, she was adored by millions. Artist Patrick Nagel captured the very essence of his subjects in a way that was both glamorous, glorified and simple - as exemplified here in his portrait of Joan. Nagel is also known for the pop music group Duran Duran, for whom he designed the album cover Rio, which has been acclaimed as one of the greatest album covers of all time. In the early 1980s, his success grew month by month. He had become a phenomenon in the art world and his exhibitions sold out in 15 minutes. Sadly he died very young at the age of 38 in 1984 leaving behind very few of his canvas paintings, making this upcoming piece a real rarity!
