Just a reminder for anyone struggling today ✌️ Two things are true: you can love parts of it and not love parts of it at the same time. We can hold duality and complex thinking when it comes to our roles as mothers and parents. Good parents love their kids AND don’t love every minute of parenting. Drop a 💕 below if this lands for you!! . . . . . We’d like to remind you that social media is not a replacement for treatment by a mental health or medical professional. Adoration is a natural, loving reaction to our children's qualities and achievements. It's about appreciating and celebrating them for who they are. On the other hand, a fawning response might stem from a desire to avoid conflict or gain approval. It can involve excessive praise or indulgence that doesn’t necessarily benefit the child in the long term. Recognizing the difference is key. It's important to ensure our responses and praises are genuine and constructive, aiding in their growth and self-esteem, rather than simply appeasing them or ourselves. I'm curious to hear your thoughts: How do you differentiate between adoring your children and having a fawning response? What practices help you ensure that your praise and affection are beneficial for their development? Share your insights in the comments below! 👇 #ParentingBalance #HealthyPraise

🌟 Sunday Funday filled with relaxation and rejuvenation! Hey there, lovely families! 👋 With the bank holiday weekend upon us, it's the perfect time to carve out a moment of mindfulness and self-care amidst the hustle and bustle of family life. As parents, we know how precious these moments are, not just for ourselves but for our little ones too. William wasn’t too thrilled about me stealing some time for myself yesterday, but with the support and encouragement from my husband, he soon found his own fun and realized everything would be okay. It's a reminder that while it's easy to put our own needs on the back burner for the sake of our children, taking care of ourselves ultimately makes us better parents and actually William and I had extra cuddles and connection on my return. It got me thinking I have 5-minute self-care document that I often share with clients. If anyone would like a copy, just drop me a message, and I'll happily send it over to you. For this Sunday Funday, I'd love for parents to share with me a moment of self-care they've embraced today. I can’t wait to hear all about it. Remember, taking care of ourselves isn't selfish—it's essential for our well-being and for being the best parents we can be. So, let's make this Sunday a day filled with love, laughter, and self-care. Your family deserves it! 💖 #SelfCareSunday #FamilyTime #SundayFunday #SleepyTraining #ParentingJourney #BedtimeRoutines #NaptimeNurtures #RestfulNights #ParentalSelfCare #SelfCareForParents #ParentingBalance #MeTimeMatters #WellnessJourney

You are not a bad parent for having struggles! Parenting is a beautiful journey, but it has many challenges. It’s natural to struggle, especially if you’re navigating it without the guidance of positive role models or a strong support network. The truth is, loving your child deeply doesn’t always mean loving every aspect of parenting life. It’s okay to struggle, especially in a society where care, connection, and community can feel scarce. For many of us, the reality is juggling parenthood with full-time work. But here’s the important thing to remember: struggling doesn’t equate to a lack of love for your child. So, if you find yourself grappling with the demands of parenthood, know that you’re not alone. It’s okay to ask for help, to seek guidance, and to share your struggles with others. You don’t have to navigate this journey solo. Together, we can create the supportive communities we all need to thrive as parents and raise happy, healthy children. #ParentingJourney #YouAreNotAlone #AskForHelp #ChallengesOfParenting #ParenthoodStruggles #UnconditionalLove #ParentingReality #SupportiveCommunity #ParentingSupport #ModernParenting #WorkingParents #ParentingBalance #BuildingBonds #ConnectionMatters #CareAndConnect #UnitedParenting #ShareYourStruggle #ParentingCommunity #WorkLifeBalance #ParentingToughTimes #ParentingConflict #CommunitySupport #Mamamaria #MamamariaCoach #Mompreneur #SMARTParenting #AwareParenting #Matrescence #ParentalBurnout

Sometime we think the 'solution' around parenting a teenager is to focus on changing the teenager. A lot of the time huge changes in your relationship with your teens can be made from making sure you as a parent are well resourced, supported and prioritised. We know valuing self care is hard when it feels like everyone needs something from you all the time...but if we remind you that it directly benefits your teenager does that make it any easier? 🎉🎈 Happy 4th Birthday to my little rockstar, Tommy! 🎂🥳 Today, it's all about celebrating him and the incredible joy he brings into our lives. But amidst the birthday balloons and cake, I wanted to take a moment to share something close to my heart. Being a mom is the greatest gift, but let's be real, it comes with its own set of challenges. The mom guilt, the juggling of responsibilities, and the constant quest for "me" time can sometimes feel overwhelming. But here's what I've learned along the way: Prioritise Self-Compassion: It's okay to not have it all figured out. Give yourself grace on the tough days and celebrate the small victories. Embrace Imperfection: There's no such thing as a perfect parent. Embrace the beautiful messiness of parenthood and know that your best is always enough. Find Your Balance: Just like today is all about Tommy, finding balance in everyday life is crucial. Taking care of yourself allows you to show up as the best version of yourself for your little ones. So here's to embracing the chaos, finding moments of peace, and always cherishing the journey of motherhood. Happy birthday, Tommy! Thank you for teaching me more about love, patience, and joy than I ever thought possible. 💖✨ #MomLife #ParentingBalance #SelfCompassion #MomGuilt #MeTime #BirthdayBoy #Tommys4th #CelebrateTheLittleThings #CherishTheJourney #LoveAndJoy #MomAndSon #FindingBalance #haylowecoaching #healthandwellness #healthandwellnesscoach

Lack of sleep is a big deal for new parents and can lead to some pretty funny moments. But the long-term effects are no joke. It can make you more irritable, anxious, and even depressed. Plus, it can increase your risk of accidents and injuries. Here are three ideas that may help: 1. Nap when your baby naps. Household tasks can wait. Take a power nap whenever your baby sleeps to recharge. 2. Learn to say no. Establishing a routine can significantly improve your rest. Don't hesitate to limit social engagements until you feel more in control. 3. Consider alternating "on" and "off" nights with your partner to ensure you both get a good night's sleep at least every other night. Do you believe it's fair for partners to alternate nights caring to ensure both parents get adequate rest, or do you think one parent should bear more responsibility for nighttime parenting duties? #NewParentSleepTips #SleepDeprivation #ParentingTips #NapWhenBabyNaps #SelfCare #PrioritizeRest #EstablishRoutine #SayNoToSocialEngagements #ParentingBalance #PartnerSupport #SharingResponsibilities #SleepRoutine #ParentingSurvival #NewMomTips #NewDadTips #SleepWell #ParentingStruggles #ParentingLife #SleepHygiene #HealthySleepHabits #ParentingReality #SleepManagement #RestAndRecharge #ParentingChallenges #SleepHealth

As parents, we hold on to our love, values, and teachings, providing a sturdy foundation for our children. Yet, we also must let go, allowing them the space to make mistakes, learn, and become independent individuals. As parents, we all face those moments that test our patience - be it sleepless nights, the terrific twos (or threes!), or just one of those days when nothing seems to go right. And let's not forget those public meltdowns (yours or your child's) that feel like everyone's watching 👀 Here's a little heart-to-heart: these moments don't define us 🌈 In the face of judgement or self-doubt, remember: 1. You're beautifully imperfect: Both you and your little one. Mistakes? They're not just okay; they're gold mines for growth and learning 🙌 2. Lead by example: Show your kiddo that it's okay to mess up, apologise, and then stride forward with grace. It's about learning, not perfection 🙏 3. Judgement is a reflection of others, not you: It's more about their journey than anything you're doing. Keep your focus on what matters most - you and your child's well-being 🫶 A few friendly nudges: - Dive deep into what triggers your fear of judgement. The better you understand it, the easier it becomes to navigate 🚗 - Be your own cheerleader. Parenting is a journey, not a destination, filled with opportunities for personal growth 🌱 - Communication is key. Chatting about your feelings and needs openly can make a world of difference 🗣️ - Remember, you're not alone on this journey. Finding your tribe or seeking professional guidance can lighten the load and brighten the path 🤝🏼 Parenting amidst the whirlwind of judgement and expectations is a challenge, but it's also packed with opportunities to bond, grow, and foster deeper connections. By embracing our authentic selves and showing our kids the power of resilience, we're teaching them invaluable lessons in compassion, understanding, and the beauty of being human 🫶 Does any of this resonate? This is how I've discovered how to strike a balance: Our code of conduct is to respect oneself and others, pick up items that are on the floor and clean them up. We are all accountable for the results we get because one day we are all going to be huge people. We are successful because everyone has a voice. "Hey there, parents! Let's talk about why recharging yourself is so important. Here are a few key points to consider: 1 ) You can't pour from an empty cup: Just like your phone needs charging to function, you need time to recharge yourself so you can be there for your kids. 2) Stress relief: Parenthood comes with its fair share of stress. Taking time to recharge allows you to decompress and better handle the challenges that come your way. 3) Setting a positive example: When your kids see you prioritizing self-care, they learn the importance of taking care of themselves too. 4) Enhanced patience and presence: Recharging helps you reset and approach parenting with a clearer mind and more patience, allowing you to be more present and engaged with your children. 5) Balancing responsibilities: Juggling work, household chores, and parenting can be overwhelming. Recharging helps you strike a balance and prevents burnout. 6) Quality time with family: When you're energized and refreshed, you can truly enjoy and cherish the time spent with your loved ones. Diving into gentle parenting didn’t just smooth out the bumps in the road with my son; it turned out to be a journey of self-discovery and growth for me too 🌱 It’s like unlocking a secret garden, where understanding your child also means uncovering bits of yourself you didn’t know existed. This journey shone a light on how much of our parenting is shaped by our past and taught me a crucial lesson: my reactions are mine to own, not my child’s burden to bear 💡 It nudged me towards empathy, showing me the ropes of navigating conflicts without resorting to a power struggle but instead, fostering a space for kind, clear communication 🗣️ One of the biggest aha moments came when I started unpacking the whole idea of power dynamics and boundaries. I learned that leaning towards permissive parenting to avoid wielding power wasn’t quite it. Instead, it was about finding that sweet spot where my needs and my son's could coexist harmoniously 🤝🏼 👉 Take our nightly tussle over bedtime, for example. The old power-over approach just led to frustration for both of us. My real need? Some peace and quiet after 8.30pm 🧘 The solution didn’t have to be a battleground but a shared understanding. Through chats and creativity, we found our middle ground - sometimes it was audiobooks, other times puzzles, or just quiet time together 🧩 This whole experience was a lightbulb moment: gentle parenting isn’t about giving up your needs for your child’s; it’s about dialoguing, understanding, and respecting each other's space. We ended up with a peaceful evening for me and the connection my son craved, without the fight 🙌 Gentle parenting has been a revelation, showing me that it’s not just about guiding your child but growing alongside them, in empathy, respect, and creative solutions. As our children grow into their teenage years and beyond, we as parents often find that a combination of resilience and empathy is key. 🌟 Preparing older kids for the real world requires us to have 'tough skin' – the ability to stay strong and composed, guiding them through life's ups and downs. Yet, equally important is maintaining a 'tender heart' – being empathetic, understanding, and compassionate to their experiences and emotions. This balance isn't always easy. It's about being their rock during turbulent times, while also being a safe space for their vulnerabilities. It means teaching them about resilience and accountability, yet also about kindness and emotional intelligence. I’d love to hear from other parents: How do you balance having tough skin and a tender heart in parenting your older children? What challenges and rewards have you encountered in this journey? Let's debunk a common misconception: gentle parenting isn't the same as permissive parenting! 🙅 Here’s a crucial insight: gentle parenting isn't about losing our boundaries; it’s about introspection and understanding that the balance lies within us, not in exerting power over our children or bending to their every whim. It's about aligning our actions and decisions with our inner values, respecting both our needs and those of our children 👌 It’s easy to oscillate between imposing strict rules and giving in totally, due to our own fears. Honestly, there's no judgment here. It's all part of figuring out the best way to nurture and guide our young people 🙏 Here’s how to find that sweet spot: 1. Understanding your needs: It starts with a little introspection. What's really important to you? Whether it's having dinner together for that quality time or encouraging your teen to contribute more at home, understanding the 'why' behind your non-negotiables is key 🔑 2. Building trust takes time: If you're shifting gears in your parenting style, remember, Rome wasn't built in a day. Communicate your intentions: "I’m trying to be more open about my needs while understanding yours." It’s about journeying together, step by step 🚗 3. Creating agreements: Instead of laying down the law, find common ground. If dinner at 6pm has never been an issue, why change it? But if there’s pushback, let’s talk: "Having dinner together means we can connect. What are your thoughts?" Crafting solutions that resonate with everyone 🙌 4. Innovative solutions: Think outside the box. Maybe dinner can shift to 7pm, or perhaps sharing a meal in front of a favourite show could work. Encourage your child to voice their ideas too 💡 Self-care isn't just a buzzword; it's your secret weapon in this journey. Finding those moments of peace for yourself ensures you're coming to these conversations with a clear mind and an open heart. Embracing gentle parenting is about building a family life where everyone's heard and valued, finding mutual solutions and growing together every step of the way ⚖️ If you've been on this journey, I'd love to hear how it's going for you 👇

Stepping into motherhood with Delani, I realized something crucial—fulfillment isn’t one-size-fits-all. I adored being Delani’s mom, but discovered I wasn’t entirely fulfilled by full-time parenting alone. My circle was filled with amazing stay-at-home moms, content with the daily dance of motherhood, but I found myself craving more. Balancing parenting with part-time work not only made me a happier person but a better mom too. Despite the norm, working outside of the home, in roles varying from nanny to barista, brought clarity, success, and much-needed adult interaction, recharging me for the hands-on parenting moments. Even when Ben stepped into full-time work, I continued my part-time pursuits, battling the internal whisper that perhaps I should find total contentment in homemaking alone. This wasn’t about choosing work over Delani but finding a harmony in embracing both roles, defying the notion that motherhood alone should encapsulate total fulfillment. It’s perfectly fine to yearn for more, to seek a blend that truly resonates with who you are. To all the moms out there feeling caught between different worlds, your path is uniquely yours to walk. Embrace it with all its facets. #MotherhoodJourney #FindingFulfillment #ParentingBalance

Last Sunday, I accomplished something big : I ran my second marathon. 🏃‍♂️ It was an experience, and since then, I've been relishing some well-deserved time off with my kids. It's been a much-needed reset—a chance to recharge and spend some quality time with the family. But as the days have passed, I've noticed something: I miss my routine. 🔄 While it's been refreshing to step away from work and commitments, I've also strayed from the habits that keep me feeling my best. My diet hasn't been as good as it normally is, my exercise routine has dwindled, and I've been getting less sleep than usual. I thrive when I'm locked into my normal routine. ⏰ It's where I find my stride, my energy, and my focus. While breaks are definitely needed, I know that I operate at my best when I'm doing the things that make me a better person. So, today, I decided to dive back into my routine—quite literally! I hit the pool for a refreshing swim to kickstart my day and get back on track. 🏊‍♂️ There's something about the rhythm of the water that helps me reset and refocus. Here's to embracing the ups and downs, finding humor in the unexpected, and always returning to the habits that keep us grounded. Co-regulation refers to the process where two or more individuals regulate their emotions, behaviors, or physiological states in response to each other, often in a supportive or collaborative manner. It’s commonly seen in relationships, particularly between parents and children, where one person’s actions or responses influence and support the regulation of the other person’s emotions or behaviours. . WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Co-regulation is crucial for fostering healthy relationships, emotional development, and social functioning. It helps individuals learn to manage their emotions, cope with stress, and regulate behavior effectively. In the context of parent-child relationships, co-regulation promotes secure attachment, enhances emotional bonding, and lays the foundation for the child’s future self-regulation abilities. In broader social interactions, co-regulation facilitates empathy, understanding, and collaboration, contributing to positive interpersonal dynamics and overall well-being. #relatableparenting #honestparenting #parenting101 #parentinggoals #parentingtruths #parentingblogger #parentingwin #parentingdoneright #postiveparenting #parentingtalk #parentingmoments #parentingbalance #parentsquad #parentingtips #parentinghacks #parentsofinstagram #ukparents #niparents #parentingright #positiveparenting #parentingftomtheheart #parentingstyle #parentsworld #parenttalk #parentsoftheworld #parentingprocess #parentingtogether #parentingbond #parentingeffectively #effectiveparenting

Parenting one child with gentle principles can be a journey of learning and growth, but what happens when you're nurturing multiple little hearts under one roof? 😅 A family I had the pleasure of coaching, comprised of different parenting styles and multiple children, showed me the profound impact of embracing gentle parenting across the board 🙌 In their story, one parent leaned towards an authoritarian approach, creating tension and misunderstandings. The other parent, naturally gravitating towards siding with the children, found themselves in a challenging dynamic. However, through our 12-week journey of discovery, understanding, and patience unfolded not just between the parents but among the siblings as well ✍️ The family transformation… 1. Empathetic listening: Each family member felt heard, fostering connection 👂 2. Patience in conflict: Redefining responses to disagreements enhanced understanding 🌱 3. Mutual respect: Children mirrored the respect they saw, improving conflict resolution 🤝🏼 The most beautiful outcome? A family learning to navigate the complexities of life as a united team 🙏 Trust was built on the understanding that everyone's needs and wants were equally important. Conflicts became less about winning and more about finding solutions that everyone could feel good about 🙌 This journey reinforces what I always say: modelling is the heart of parenting. When we embody the values of gentle parenting, our children absorb these lessons, learning to apply them in their interactions with others. It's a testament to the power of leading by example, showing that even in a household bustling with diverse needs and personalities, gentle parenting can be the glue that binds us together in understanding and love 🤍 If you're navigating the beautiful challenge of parenting more than one, remember, you're not just raising children; you're nurturing future leaders of empathy and compassion. Oat Milk DIY: Creamy, Dreamy & Oh-So-Easy! 🌾🥛 Gearing up for a dairy-free delight that’s as fun to make as it is to sip? Oat milk is your go-to, and guess what? It’s super simple to whip up at home. Here’s a quick and easy guide to get you started on your oat milk adventure: 🥄 You’ll need: 1 cup rolled oats (gluten-free if needed) 4 cups water (plus more for soaking) A pinch of salt Optional: 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or vanilla extract for a touch of sweetness 🍁 🌪️ Let’s get blending! Soak your oats in plenty of water for about 30 minutes – it helps make them blend better. Drain and rinse the oats until the water runs clear. This step is key to avoid any sliminess. Toss the oats, fresh water, salt (and sweetener or vanilla if you’re using it) into your blender. Let it rip for about 30 seconds until it looks all milky and marvellous. Strain your oat milk through a nut milk bag or a fine mesh strainer. Squeeze or stir to get every drop of that oaty goodness. Store it in the fridge in a sealed container, and give it a good shake before using as it can separate (that’s all-natural, folks!) And there you have it – your very own jug of homemade oat milk! Perfect for your morning coffee, cereal, or just a cool, creamy glass on its own. 🥛✨ Give it a go and let me know how you find it! Any secret ingredients you like to add? Drop your tips in the comments..

Balancing Parenthood & Online Work: How to Thrive in Both Worlds 🚀💼 Parenting brings immense joy, but it also presents challenges, from late-night feedings to endless diaper changes. On the other hand, working online offers the freedom to earn a living from home, but it comes with its own demands. So, how can we successfully navigate the responsibilities of parenthood while meeting the demands of online work? The key lies in finding a routine that harmonizes both aspects of our lives. It's crucial to set clear boundaries between work time and family time. By designating specific hours for focused work and dedicated time with our children without distractions, we can strike a balance that works. The flexibility of online work is a tremendous asset. Unlike traditional office jobs, online work allows us to tailor our hours to fit our family's needs. Whether it's seizing the early morning hours before the kids wake up or tackling tasks in the quiet of the evening, finding a schedule that accommodates both work commitments and family time is essential. Effective communication is also paramount in balancing parenthood and online work. Openly discussing our family responsibilities and any scheduling constraints with our employers or clients fosters understanding and ensures a supportive work environment. Prioritizing self-care is non-negotiable. Both parenting and online work can be mentally and emotionally draining, so taking time for ourselves to recharge is essential. Whether it's a leisurely walk or indulging in a hobby we enjoy, nurturing our well-being enables us to show up as our best selves for our families and our work. Finding harmony between parenthood and online work involves setting boundaries, leveraging flexibility, effective communication, and prioritizing self-care. With these strategies in place, we can thrive in both worlds, embracing the joys of parenting while excelling in our professional pursuits. 💞💞 #OnlineWork #ParentingBalance
