Today I did a small study of a young sapling growing at the park. It has a promising bud that isn’t yet fully open, but you can already see that there is something beautiful waiting to bloom. 🌱 Building your art skills is a slow and gradual process, and sometimes it can be hard to see progress day-to-day. We are often blind to the changes that are occurring within ourselves when we focus too closely. I like to remind myself that I will never be able to see my own progress in the moment, but as long as I am persistent in my practices, I can trust that in the future I will be able to look back and the growth will be clear as day. That’s the hope, at least. Do you find it difficult to stick with skill-building practices? What motivates you to keep working on your long-term goals each day? "Białe petunie, czerwone pelargonie" "White petunia and Red geranium" On this windy, sunny spring day I wanted to share with you my latest experience🌿🌬️🌞 which was quite special to me😍 I took part in a mural design competition and wait... I did not win, so why it is so special?🤔 The subject matter is so close to my heart that I am glad I have sent my work and was given the chance to share my vision😉🏵️ The mural will be dedicated to nurses in Warsaw Uprising 1944 who lived and fought in one of my favorite districts of Warsaw-Mokotów🌿 These were very brave and rebellious women or girls who loved fashion, loved flowers and loved their city😍 I had a chance to meet two of them in my painting class many years ago. Back then they were already in their 90ties but very strong personalities and young at heart💮❤️ Dzisiaj chciałam się z wami podzielić jednym z moich ostatnich doświadczeń😍 Otóż wzięłam udział w konkursie na mural mokotowskiej sanitariuszki z Powstania Warszawskiego💮 Mój projekt nie wygrał, ale mimo to, cieszę się, że wzięłam udział i mogłam podzielić się z innymi moją wizją🌞 Temat ten jest naprawdę bliski mojemu sercu❤️ A teraz trochę o samym projekcie🤎🌸 Mokotów to niesamowicie zielona dzielnica, w maju pachnie tam bzem💜 w lipcu lipą💛 generalnie ciągle czuć tam jakieś kwiaty, pełno też dębów, a w zakamarkach parków rosną pokrzywy, dające schronienie larwom motyli.🦋 Przed wojną Warszawa była bardzo ukwieconym miastem, organizowano konkursy na najładniejsze balkony, zapadła mi jedna fraza z opisów " białe petunie, czerwone pelargonie". Purple reigns …over the Barbican’s famous Brutalist exterior ! Quite what the animated local bird life makes of it , we’ll never know. Swathes of purple cloth with swatches of traditional Ghanaian batakari robes have been hand stitched and sewn in Ghana to create this all enveloping installation, and it’s a show stopper. Spear headed by Ibrahim Mahama, noted for site specific artworks that repurpose functional objects , this is recycling at its pinnacle .
