Another suggestion for a quieter place to visit this weekendโฆ Beacon Wood Country Park, near Bean. This beautiful country park had a bit of an ethereal feel to it when we visited in the autumn. The bare trees covered in moss and lichen had a strange other-worldly feel to them. Iโm sure now, in its spring colours and new leaves itโs looking stunning! Thereโs lots of lovely walks around the park. Weโve been told the local developers have improved the play equipment since our visit, so it would be great if anyone can share some pictures with us. Thereโs no facilities here, just an honesty box for the car park. But youโre only 5-10 minutes from Bluewater should you need anything. If you fancy somewhere to take the dogs or children for a walk in this delicious spring sunshine, you could try Beacon Wood Country Park near Bean and Bluewater (DA2 8AR). We visited in the autumn and found lots of stunning fungi, but the spring bulbs and new foliage will be sprouting now. Parking here is FREE and there are no facilities, but Bluewater shopping centre is only a short drive away. Thereโs lots of trails so you can get lost in the woods, most of the trails are compacted mud and gravel and a few of the routes have steps.
