I'm torn (August 21st, 2023) Someone took a bite of this. A tiny fly, perhaps? I usually find the fly agaric mushroom with lots of holes and pieces missing. It seems like a popular feast for the forest creatures. Me, on the other hand, I've been told this is highly poisonous. It's probably the most well-known mushroom out there, with lots of stories and myths surrounding it. I've come to love these, but at the same time, I also don't. There are plenty of mushrooms more poisonous and scary than these. And all the stories have kind of overshadowed their beauty somehow. I'm torn. I want to ignore them as they often get way more recognition than other mushrooms out there. Others who deserve the same amount of attention. They all have their purpose. Some really delicious foragables about this ime of year. Late spring is probably my favourite season, not just because its getting warmer and ( supposedly) drier, but my work season is waking up, and more importantly nature is. The countryside looks good enough to eat, the hedgerows are fizzing with birds- even my little urban garden has a resident robin, and i suspect a nest in the honeysuckle. Time for some green soup i think :) nettle and wild garlic, garnished with the just opened flowers and a base of st georges mushrooms. The miners lettuce is one of my favourite wild salad plants- succulent and crisp, perhaps with some slices of dryads saddle fungus and sauteed hop shoots on top. Nun ist er dran, der Geldblättrige Trompen Schnitzling. Dieser Pilz ist ein Weißdornbegleiter und wächst unter diesem zum Teil recht häufig. Der von oben recht unauffällige isabellenweisse bis gelbliche Pilz, besticht umso mehr durch seine entfernstehende, deutlich gelben Lamellen auf der Hutunterseite.
