Antisect (hailing from Daventry, Northamptonshire, UK) may not be well known today, but to many metalheads and punks, they’ve been pretty significant. Indeed, in 1985 / 1986, along with Amebix, those guys created a new sound. Amebix released “Arise!” in ‘85 and Antisect put out their “Out From The Void” EP in early ’86; and people would later call this new genre Crust Punk. “In Darkness, There Is No Choice”, Antisect’s first record, is way more “traditional” for Punk but you could already tell the band had something special with that hypnotic and ultra-intense guitar riffing. From the start, Antisect made sure they distinguished themselves from any other band. Although there are twelve actual songs on the CD, it has only two tracks (originally called “Side 1” and “Side 2” aha), because… They didn’t care! I read that John Peel got mad about this because he couldn’t isolate the songs to broadcast them. The band were ultra-political and wrote exceptionally clever lyrics that turned to speeches or diatribes. The guys were vegetarian activists, and for example, this is what you hear on “The World's Biggest Runt”: “We completely denounce the barbaric belief that to slaughter so called lesser species for profit should be viable and morally acceptable. To take the life of any living creature, we see as being totally unacceptable. Deeming ourselves as the most intelligent species, we appear to have reached the conclusion that all other species are expendable. This archaic way of thinking, has led to both the extinction and near extinction of hundreds of species of animal during our short time on Earth. What we are faced with is a complete reassessment of our whole moral standards. FNUKING BNUUY Sooooo me and another person in the Harmony and Horror discord started this silly roleplayish thing where we acted like we were taking care of Horace while he had some sort of sickness and it grew semi-popular as other people joined in on the thing and resulted in some ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE art of him...which resulted into the concept of Horace having a stuffed rabbit. This is Angelica Lepus (mostly he just calls her "Angie"), she's his stuffed bunny. HEADCANON: Horace has a tendency to fidget with the chain at the end of his monocle, like a cat with a doorstopper. It makes a jingly noise. Thingy I made in Art/Anime Club today, there were like 2 people here for some reason (either because of miscommunication or everyone simply forgor), me and this other girl, and we were allowed to make little needle felting crafts. I REALLY wanted to do Azurewing, just to show my now-forgotten bluebirb gorl some love after so long, but the heart wants what the heart wants, so more BOAB IT IS! Our teacher traced the inital image (she did an AMAZING JOB, by the way), then I traced it onto a piece of white felt with a pen and a lightbox (which I NEED to get one for myself at some point because I REALLY want one), and so me and this girl worked on our felt creations as an episode of Demon Slayer played in the background, I worked one the sky until it was time for me to leave, and my teacher even let me take some of the felt and stuff I needed home so I could finish it there! I've personally never needle-felted like thus before, and the image I chose was kinda overambitious, but whatever. Despite the few times I accidentally poked myself with the needle and bled once even, this was very relax and I'll be sure to needle-felt more in the future Also, FELT BOAB! I was watching one of those videos about terrifying submechanophobia inducing animatronics and URGHHHHHHHH NO NO NO NO. I already have thalassaphobia (fear of the ocean, specifically how deep and empty it is), so the thought of being in the water with a grimy, rotting old animatronic with the rusting mechanics still exposed just waiting to grind me up makes me skin crawl. I'm already a huge animatronic fan (thanks to fnaf), so I will admit I am also invested in these marvels of technology, no matter how terrifying they are. I figured hey, why not do CANDLE COVE? So here we have a Laughingstock puppet, sitting at the bottom of a lake, in a pretty bad shape from sitting in the water for who knows how long, with the mechanisms that previously puppeteered him now being fully exposed-the metal hinge that moves his jaw and the wire that moved his eyes now sitting in his socket. He's seemingly been hollowed out and has become the home for some fish, eels, and a venomous sea snake. Not exactly the best fate for a once mighty ship, huh? While this isn't gore, I was hoping to capture some of the stuff that made submechanophobia truly horrifying for those who have it: your brain is trying to correct itself, saying "That thing does NOT belong in water, it must be a threat!", even when aforementioned thing is supposed to be there. What one can do with a single pen and way too much school time. Now, THIS is what I've been waiting to post. The final doodle in the massive collection of pen doodles I did in a single school day, this amazing drawing of Skin-Taker! This was the one I wasted the most pen ink on, particularly with the shading, which is actually good for once! Basically what I did is that I added the texture on the skin sewn on and the stitches, then I lightly went over them with the pen, making sure the texture's still visible. Basically, the more times you go over with the pen, the darker it gets, which results in this REALLY AWESOME EFFECT that looks like he's just looming out of the darkness and all you can see is his eyes. So dang COOL!!!! Absolutely one of my favorites I've ever done, despite it being in the same pose I've been drawing him in but whatever XD And I'm pretty sure none of y'all were wondering this, but the pen Mom gave me that I used for all of this was a Pilot Precise V7 Rt, my favorite pen of all time just because of the needle-thin tip, the grip it has...it's so SATISFYINGGGG And that's it! SKIN-TAKER! What started off as an initial doodle to experiment with how he'd look in my artstyle (since I was trying to find a balance between realistic and menacing and...y'know...CREEPY (or absolutely terrifying), and cartoony so he'd be easy to draw (plus he's literally a skeleton, which was the part I was most worried about because I thought I was gonna have to struggle with the dreadful ANATOMY), something most people do when they draw him, plus I will admit I have a crush on him now so I wanted to have that be possible too lol) turned into this! I got kinda lazy with the ribs and arms so I just shaded them so I didn't have to draw him.
