Lanzado en 1987, este trabajo marca un cambio de estilo respecto a sus anteriores trabajos, pasando del rock gótico al hard rock. Tras el éxito de su segundo trabajo Love (1985), The Cult comienzan a grabar durante el verano de 1986 una docena de temas en los estudios Manor en Oxfordshire, Inglaterra bajo la producción de Steve Brown. Estas grabaciones, conocidas como the Manor Sessions, debían formar parte de un nuevo disco que se iba a titular "Peace". Sin embargo la banda no se encontraba satisfecha con el sonido y comenzaron a buscar un nuevo productor. The Cult viajó entonces a Nueva York donde conocieron a Rick Rubin, que había producido álbumes para varios artistas de hip hop y para la banda de thrash metal Slayer. Aldo Nova - Aldo Nova. Is it time for a fantasy? Aldo is widely considered in the one hit wonder category. Most of us are familiar with the legendary, Fantasy, from 1982. But this whole album is solid 80's rock. Aldo is a skilled guitarist and keyboardist. He used synths in a very futuristic and atmospheric way, interspersing them with big riffs and his cool and engaging voice. When I listen to this album, I can't help but draw some comparisons to early Def Leppard as well. DL were more metal, but the penchant for both bands writing catchy guitar driven choruses, and letting the music breathe while energizing you is quite similar. #AdrianDodz was another in an endless chain of hard-rock hero acts from the New York tri-state area battling it out in the hopes of becoming the next big #BonJovi-level success story in the late-80s. Style-wise these guys sound a little like Y&T with a #Foreigner aftertaste. #FredDodds is a strong vocalist and the songs are hooky and anthemic but the main reason to check this out is for the explosive guitar-work of #JohnBushnell. John (as well as bassist #HalSelzer) went on to form #SilentWitness with ex #LynchMob and current #Warrant frontman #RobertMason but his work here is a lot more #VanHalen-esque. “Adrian Dodz” was originally released in 1988 with only eight songs but the 2010 reissue tacks on three new ones that thankfully pick up right where the band left off 20 years ago. The fact that these guys never “made it” is simply testament to how insanely competitive the hard-rock scene was in those days. Frehley's Comet" is the second solo release by ACE FREHELY. It was released on April 27, 1987. Frehley's Comet is the second solo album by Ace Frehley, former lead guitarist of Kiss. It was also the first album that Frehley released after leaving Kiss in 1982. Frehley formed his solo band in 1984. He went on tour to perform his Kiss classics and some new material, which was recorded with his new band. The original Frehley's Comet lineup consisted of Ace Frehley (on lead, backup vocals and lead guitar), Richie Scarlet (on lead, backup vocals, lead and rhythm guitar), John Regan (on bass guitar and backup vocals), Arthur Stead (on keyboards), and Anton Fig (on drums). Fig also played drums on Frehley's 1978 Kiss solo album, as well as Kiss's Dynasty and Unmasked albums. In 1985, Richie Scarlet left the band to focus on a solo career. Scarlet's departure led to another lineup change with Arthur Stead being dropped and briefly replaced by Rob Sabino before Tod Howarth joining the band, handling the rhythm guitar, lead and backup vocals duties. The original Frehley's Comet lineup recorded various demos and songs around 1984 and 1985, and many of them were performed live; however, the songs from that era are still officially unreleased, and only a few of them made it to the final recording of Frehley's Comet. He invented the persona of the "Spaceman" or "Space Ace" and played with the group from its inception in 1973 until his departure in 1982. After leaving Kiss, Frehley embarked on a solo career, which was put on hold when he rejoined Kiss in 1996 for a highly successful reunion tour. Frehley's second tenure with Kiss lasted until 2002, when he left at the conclusion of what was originally purported to be the band's Farewell Tour. His most recent solo album, Origins, Vol. 1, was released on April 15, 2016. Guitar World magazine ranked him as the 14th Greatest Metal Guitarist of All Time. His solos often incorporate the minor pentatonic scale and the use of vibratos. Outside Kiss, Frehley had commercial success, with his first solo album going platinum.
