WALKING BRITAIN DAY 5 Wednesday 6th march was a very cold and again damp morning with the temperature sitting around 1. The area was shrouded in a mist that made it feel like something out of a fairytale! Once I was packed up I headed off out of the nature reserve and back onto the trail following the #southdownsway. My amazing friend @kittyfoster_tattoo video messaged me that she was in the area I had sadly abandoned my guitar and other bits with her canine companions in tow, it was a such a weight lifted off my shoulders and Iโll be forever grateful for it! Was later on in the day she would send me vids and snapshot of the stuff safe and sound at her place! ๐ Come across a lovely little cafe where I stopped and had a much needed coffee but if truth be told I probably sat there for way to long as I had a destination in mind to get to as I had my friend @bycloudwhite coming to meet me the next day! My first destination along the trail was an area called #devilsjumps (Bronze Age burial mounds) on my way to #hartingdown but I wasnโt paying attention and instead of turning to walk past the mounds I carried on straight missing the sign post without even realising but this error lead me to bump into two lovely gents Simon and dino with whom I exchanged pleasantries and why Iโm doing what Iโm doing etc they kindly agreed to a selfie to be forever immortalised and remembered on my feed! Also dino, knowing money was short offered me ยฃ2 which made my heart melt! Meeting them was fated so yes I had to walk an extra mile to get back on track but it was meant to be we where meant to meet! Harting down is such a beautiful area but my gods, it is literally up and down, up and down sharply my legs felt this one but the scenery and the natural surroundings made up for it big time! I LOST my mind over matter beanie, well I knew where I left it but no way was I going back down and up again ๐ anywayโฆ it is what it is. When I finally got to #hallshill at #queenelizabethcountrypark it was already getting dark and I needed to find a place to pitch. Fence hoped, pitched at an angel!
