Round the mountain and the Tongariro crossing were some of the most interesting landscapes on the TA so far. Adding a few days to do the extra track was definitely worth it to see the mountains and volcanoes from so many sides! We got lucky with excellent weather and clear skies for the crossing to see Mt Ruapehu. Back when i did this hike was a moment where I was going through some low emotions and feelings and inner challenges. I still feel the emotions come up now that I was going through in these moments. I might post all the hiking victories and happy view points. Mostly hiking and beautiful scenery is just part of my weekly adventurous lifestyle, but often my hikes coincide with processing lifes challenges, pains and letting go and healing. The peacefulness and serenity of the lake and being with no service in the middle of fiordland helped to bring me back to myself, appreciate the incredible nature and how grateful I am for these experiences. I can't really explain how it all felt to sit at the top staring at the glassy reflection with the tail end of sunrise. This was actually such a emotionally beautiful and healing hike for me. Just breathing and letting go and taking in how awe inspiring and bittersweet life can be.

. 📍Bell Rock, Hawkes Bay ⛅️Sunshine turned cloud cover Serenity. Quite simply the most serene place I have visited. The pictures & the words do not do justice to the profound beauty, calm and peace experienced today. The first hour of the track starts in the bush - a steep to then steady uphill - mossy trees, fungi galore and sun shining through the canopy. Washpen Falls Track 🥾 On Sunday, we headed up near Methven to the Washpen Falls Track - a fun 3km walk on a private farm to an awesome waterfall. With tussock, caves, forest, a great view at the top and a lake, this walk had so much to see and experience for the $10 fee that goes to the farmers. With warning, it can be pretty muddy so we would definetely reccomend hiking boots - especially after rain.
