Firstly I'm a former abuser of wee'd from the age of 17 years old to 31. At 32 I decided to work on myself and address the traumas I was hiding with the wee'd I was abusing. I went to therapy and learned how to forgive myself, love myself and take care of myself. 11 years went by and life happened for me, I finally felt free and living life without depression. I had my 4 more children and I'm married and run 2 businesses from home. Anxiety, Stress and Insomnia were wearing me down and I stopped fully taking care of me as I was taking care of everyone else. Medical Herbal Legalization has helped me to refocus on my why and maintain my sanity while managing my adult life. I used to smoke woods back to back. Today, 7 years post my return to Herbs I'm able to smoke 2 grams in a 36 hours period. Now that I incorporate my farmed lab tested CBD or CBG as well as other herbs in my medical plant based herbs I'm able to use my medical plant based herbs less and therefore not spend so much money and grow my own. I'm a proud mom of 5, cancer, trauma n homeless survivor, a wife and run 4 growing businesses. We have he ability to grow our own meds and I helped advocate for that capability in Maryland. I am super overwhelmed with emotions this past month. I kept saying “All I Want For Christmas” is home furnishings. I planned on purchasing little by little. Sacrificing, working extra jobs so that I could afford all of my expenses because as a single mother, and knowing my story, it’s a struggle. I was surprised with home furnishings last week. You never know how God will bless you. I haven’t had a bedroom set or living room set in 13 years. I had both when I lived in my Bronx apt bc my grandma gifted it to me. I cherished it. Once I gave birth to Chris in 2008 it went to storage. From storage I moved it to Meriden CT in 2009 to the home I shared with the person who would become my abuser. He would eventually rid of it against my wishes and when I became homeless for the next 3 years all I had was clothes and a dresser. Which I would also get rid of when it became damaged in my storage unit in 2015. I moved into my Middletown apt and used my living room as a storage unit for the next 6 years. Never bothered to get a bdrm set bc my kids needs came first. So blow up mattress after another for the next 6 years. Purchased my home this year and STILL chose my kids needs over mine. Last night I was gifted a brand new living room and dining room set. I was happy… it wasn’t until reality set in that I cried and hugged the gifter. Here I was trying to figure out a way to furnish my home so I’m not continuing the cycle of a storage unit space, so I started with my kids first. Little did I know my sacrifice was noticed and I would be blessed beyond measure. Merry Christmas to me!! Sometimes no matter how much work we have done in our live around our sadness our demons resurface at the most unusual times #mondaymotivation today is about stepping up to those demons and saying I see you but you no longer can destroy me or own me. Yesterday I went to a place that use to offer me solice and a place to breathe at the waters edge. It was just down the street from my house where life was being cruel and unfair to me. My life is not that that different from anyone else and my story to others is quite tame in comparison. But at times in our lives we all need help and we need peoples love to get over the hump. Put your arms around someone today and tell them you love them and it will be ok and help them get help if they need it. #wednesdaywindup Today I was sent this memory photo from a couple years back. See my face so so happy #happinesshero but I can tell you I was struggling, drowning in fact. That shirt was an XXL and I filled it out nicely but I was getting very sad and frustrated with myself. I was eating and drinking away my issues and struggling day to day. In the last 3 years I got off the couch, stopped drinking everyday and changed the food I was putting in my mouth. I don't even fit in that shirt anymore. And for the first time since I was a drug addict and skinnier from the drugs, I now fit into a large shirt. Loving yourself and telling yourself you matter is the hardest thing you can do. We believe all those shitty and negative things people say and then we play them out. #motivationmonday It's been 3 years since I started on my fitness journey. I pulled up this photo which is around the time I decided to love myself. It's been a lot of work, like a ton of work. And now I own way more workout gear and seem to do full-time laundry! Most of my evenings are filed with which class I can go to or what type of fitness I can plan with friends who are into fitness. No longer are my days filled with working 12-14 hour days, eating poorly, not exercising and sitting on the couch slamming 5 king cans of beer at the end of the day. I don't do any kind of diet but I changed everything I put into my mouth with the help of my wife @culinaryconcrete Simply putting good food into my body with physical movement and balance is the recipe for my personal change. Large or smaller I have always been a happy person except now I am even happier and now I am healthy. There are days I don't want to eat healthy or get off my couch but the feeling I get when I look after myself is way more important! So too anyone who is struggling....stick with it! Happy #motivationmonday everyone!! I am still on a high from my accomplishment yesterday. About 3 years ago I hopped on my first spin bike. I was so scared and at my largest weight. Fast forward...I have shed over 45lbs without dieting, just eating healthy and exercising. It has given me a new lease on life. My mind is clear and my goal is focused. For the first time in my life I am being selfish and that is ok. Me! I'm important. My heart health is important and so is my state of mind.
