Here we go….another Day 1. I know every setback is a chance to show yourself you can come back and push through anything. But I’d be lying if I said another Day 1 doesn’t sting. I’ve had more medical setbacks the past 2 years than I can count. But that’s life and I know it could be much worse. Have I turned to unhealthy eating to cope with my frustration…..yes! Have I said f*** it, I’m not trying again…..yes! But that would be taking the easy way out and admitting defeat, which I refuse to do. I’m where I am because of myself and no one else. Am I frustrated that I’m weak and bigger than I’ve been prob ever....yes!!!! BUT I’m focusing on the positive and choosing to be thankful that I have the ability to be here and have another Day 1. That is a blessing, not a curse!! Mental strength is so much heavier to me than any dumbbell you can ask me to lift. These first couple weeks will feel heavy and hard, but my mind is doing the heaviest lifting. I know I can do this again and so can anyone who has had a setback. Just show up and keep showing up! I got this and so do you. Productive Saturday morning of fun 🤩. I could have easily slept in today until around noon, but I got up and walked over to the Orange 🍊 to get that work 💪🏼. I love lifting and it’s usually difficult to get in that early class, but a spot was open so I jumped it 🙃. Today was a mix of exercises I enjoy and ones that I’m struggling with right now, because my knee issues. I want to be able to do single leg squats again without using the straps 😔. I did get 2 with my bad leg but then I listened to my body and did the modification so I didn’t hurt myself anymore 🙃. I like looking at that real-time graph to see where my heart rate jumped. I hardly ever get up in the high orange and reach the red on the floor, but playing with 90 got the heart rate up. Not going to lie, young me, as a member, would have probably rushed through the exercises just to get them done, but wiser me 😂, takes my time now and moves with a purpose, making every rep count (and by those last few, I was craving that rest 🥵!) And being a lifter, who does not enjoy running, only because it’s hard for me right now 😭, I was able to get into a Tread 50 class to put in some work. I liked those endurance blocks today 😌. Since I know I have speed limitations right now, I worked on cadence, trying to maintain good technique, and did some incline work. I forgot my knee brace 🫣, but I’m still proud of myself for pushing through it with minimal pain 🙌🏼. (I’m working on not hating on myself so much, especially when I can’t do things 🥹😔.) It’s been a while since I’ve been able to jog for 4 minutes without having to bring the speed down. I honestly just want to be a well-rounded athlete again: good at all the things 💪🏼😎. Local Municipal Water District needed a few things added to 3 of their new trucks. We had built these boxes before but with angle and expanded Metal and I really disliked the end result. Decided we were going to change them up and make them a lot easier and better overall. These are 1/8” aluminum cut and formed then powder coated a wrinkle black. Also added a front “stuff catcher” on the pipe rack plus a couple extra crossmembers.
