Despite its bigger budget and much more elaborate world-building, it's the lowest rated in the series. The first two were faster paced car chase action movies, while this one takes its time with the story. I saw the #MadMax series completely out of order cuz I saw #MadMaxFuryRoad on Friday. I couldn't do 4 nights in a row so I had to wait to watch some over the weekend. Alors ce Mad Max là, je ne m'en souvenais pas du tout. Mais vraiment pas. A part un truc : Master Blaster. Le géant gogole avec un nain malin sur les épaules. Ça oui, je m'en rappelais. Mais c'est tout, rien d'autre. Et peut-être aurait-il mieux fallu que ça reste ainsi. Mais dans notre marathon madmaxien avec le fiston, on ne pouvait bien évidemment pas faire l'impasse du ce troisième opus, tout boursouflé, où la violence aride et spectaculaire des deux autres a été mise de côté (tout comme le cuir gay) au profit d'un spectacle beaucoup plus familial, très kids friendly, et pour cause : à mi-parcours, Max croise la route d'une bande de gosses, sorte de version post-apo des Enfants Perdus de Peter Pan. Avant ça, on est plongés dans une guéguerre au sein d'une ville décadente, entre les gens qui habitent en haut et qui ont pour cheffe Tina Turner et ceux qui vivent en bas, qui alimentent le haut en énergie naturelle (la merde des cochons) et qui obéissent à Master Blaster. Toute ressemblance avec la macronie serait évidement fortuite. Sorte de mercenaire Clint Eastwoodien, Max va se retrouver au milieu des deux clans et aider le premier avant de prendre le partie du second au cours d'un affrontement sous le dôme du tonnerre, qui donne son titre au film, le temps d'un combat complètement zinzin où les deux adversaires voltigent dans tous les sens pour se foutre sur la gueule. On se croirait dans un croisement entre Fort Boyard et Intervilles, mais avec une tronçonneuse. Rien de tout cela n'est bien sérieux, ni ne tient la route. On dirait que George Miller a complètement abandonné à la fois son personnage et le monde qu'il a créé pour en livrer une parodie pas franchement drôle (la scène où Max doit rendre toutes ses armes...) ni très respectueuse du mythe. Pourquoi qu'il a fait ça ? Kékissépassé ? Je sais pas. Mais le résultat est vraiment pas très heureux. Le fiston s'est emmerdé comme pas possible, moi j'en ai profité pour enchainer les micro-siestes qui permettent, à nous autres les vieilles personnes, de rester en vie ou tout du moins, de donner l'impression qu'on est encore en vie, même si on est décédés de l'intérieur. Coober Pedy a en tout cas attiré des milliers d’Européens dans la ruée vers l’opale, une pierre précieuse. Car son autre spécificité est son habitat troglodyte en raison des fortes chaleurs et du froid la nuit. On appelle ces habitations des dugouts. Je m’y suis arrêtée sur le trajet en bus d’Alice Springs à Adelaïde. Le plus effrayant a été de dormir au Radeka Downunder Underground Motel, une immense auberge troglodyte. Parmi les curiosités de Coober Pedy, notons son église troglodyte, le musée de l’opale et une reconstitution de l’habitat d’antan. Vous promener dans la ville vous donnera sûrement des frissons (mais aussi des sueurs chaudes). Le plus insolite est le golf sans herbe, à quelques kilomètres de la ville. Une « randonnée » éreintante par 40 degrés, sans parler de la menace des dingos, les chiens sauvages qui me terrorisaient. Vous verrez des sculptures étonnantes partout dans la ville, accompagnées de panneaux danger en référence aux mines. Les « breakaways » et la « moon plain » de Coober Pedy ont été le théâtre de nombreux films tels que Mad Max 3, Planète rouge ou Priscilla, folle du désert. Bref Coober Pedy, c’est vraiment quelque chose d’à-part. Et le plus dingue, c’est que vous croiserez peut-être là-bas un cycliste traverser l’outback du nord au sud. Synopsis : Max, de retour, s'est fait dépouiller de son maigre bien. Suivant le voleur, il arrive à la ville du Troc, où règne Entity. Celle-ci l'engage pour qu'il la débarrasse de Master et Blaster, rois du Monde souterrain. N'ayant voulu tuer Blaster, Max est abandonné en plein désert, d'où il ressurgit à la tête d'une troupe d'enfants pour faire exploser la ville du Troc. Avis : le film commençait bien on avait l'ambiance du deuxième film qui était angoissante mais après 20 minutes on tombe très bas, les scènes d'actions ne sont pas incroyables que ce soit les combats physiques ou les courses poursuites car c'est montré comme ridicule ( le dôme du tonnerre ) et le reste est devenu trop enfantin, max qui fait équipe avec des gosses qui le prennent pour un dieu en soi ça pouvait être une idée sympa mais c'est montré comme rigolo ce qui est vraiment en contradiction avec cet univers, je veux bien que c'était pour adoucir max mais même le gosse dans le deuxième film avait mieux réussi cette fonction rien qu'avec quelques échanges alors que là Max est tout le temps agacé par eux ou alors c'est vraiment bref ce qui rend son ""'evolution"" (qu'on avait déjà vu) très nul à voir, et les antagonistes sont d'un ridicule, j'avais l'impression de voir des cosplayeurs en convention tellement qu'ils sont ridicules a aucun moment on leur donne une finalité ils disparaissent juste avec une explication bancale pour que le film se termine vite pour conclure le film "conclu" très mal cette trilogie avec des choix foireux tout en faisant du mauvais réchauffé ce qui rend le film oubliable car à aucun moment le film atteint la grandeur des deux premiers films c'est une mauvaise suite mais encore pire c'est une très mauvaise fin. #madmax #madmax3 #filmnulachier #filmnul #critiquedefilm #critique #critiqueanime #critiquedejeux #critiquedejeux #critiquedeseries #avislecture #avispopulaire #avispersonnage #avisimpopulaires #madmaxfuryroad

Movie: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) Directors: George Miller, George Ogilvie Rating: 6/10 Review: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is the third action film in the Mad Max franchise starring Mel Gibson as Max finds himself in the evil town of Bartertown. This film is regarded as the worst in the franchise, and I see why. However, I still enjoyed it more than the first one because it’s not as slow or boring. But yeah, this threequel doesn’t have much of a plot besides “Max ends up in a new place” and definitely doesn’t have any sort of character arc for Max (or anyone for that matter). I did enjoy the Thunderdome scene, that was really cool and probably my favorite part of the movie. On the flip side, I hated the “Captain Walker kids” and felt they had no purpose whatsoever. Max deciding to stay with them didn’t make any sense to me either. Also, the Mad Max franchise is known for its car chase scenes and crazy car stunts, and this movie is completely devoid of that until the last like thirty minutes. Even so, all the characters in Bartertown are pretty interesting to me, I like all the wacky designs. Tina Turner’s character and MasterBlaster are my favorites. Although I don’t understand why they needed to kidnap Master at the end. Plus who are those random people with the plane that just showed up? I have no idea, and now that I’m thinking about it this movie has a lot of flaws. But I still had some fun with it and that’s why I’m giving it a higher score than the first, because I didn’t have much fun watching that one. I give Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome a 6/10 overall.
The illustration of Wez from the 1981 film Mad Max 2 is now complete. I created this drawing using a Uniball fineliner, Graph'it markers and Promarkers, and Windsor and Newton Indian ink applied with a brush. Also, to achieve the splatter effect I applied the ink I using a toothbrush. I find the mohawked Wez to be a very scary villain, with him doing back flips when he attacks people, but when I found out that Wez is the same actor who plays Bennett in the 1985 movie Commando, my terror went supanova. Bennett is still slightly more terrifying though.
