Dinner tonight was Sirloin Steak with Kumara Mash and mustard mushroom sauce 😍😋 I have wanted to give WOOP a try for a little while now and finally decided to jump in there after having a break from other food boxes. And OOOMMMMMGGGGG I am glad we did. With Louis and Micah they have limited palates, especially Micah who has the same foods daily and won't try anything else. Louis gets adventurous at times with his food but majority of the time I prepare 2-3 different meals for dinner (and lunch during the weekend) I get into a bit of a cooking rut and will cook something that's easy and quick as I'm usually trying to cook them all at the same time. Today since the meals are prepped it made it all so much easier which meant less stress for this Mama. It is nice to give my family a good meal, one that we will sit down and enjoy together. Can't wait for the next @woop_nz meal #weseethingsdifferently #specialneedsfamilly #autismfamily #mealprep #woop #woopclassic #foodissues #multiplemealsaday #asdmum #busymum #soloparent #steak #mushroomsauce #kumaramash #dinner #nzfood #aucklandcity #feedme #yummy #instafood #aucklandfamily #ASD

Today meals! . So it was a return to my long shifts and so breakfast, lunch etc was taken to work. . Today though knowing I hadn’t eaten as much yesterday and was more likely to feel a dip in energy I took multiple meals. . Breakfast was chocolate protein porridge with raspberries. . Meal 2 was an Aldi Sweet Potato burger with salad. . Meal 3 was sausages, potato and gravy. . My snack was a BattleBites protein bar in Mud Pie flavour. . Dinner tonight though was disappointing if im honest and really didn’t hit the spot. Crunchy baked fajitas and it just need something extra to it. I probably would have done better having 1 of them and packing it with Mexican rice and salad but meh, it is what it is. We live and we learn 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😂 . #mealprep #lunchprep #worklunch #worklunches #multiplemealsaday #5mealsaday #muscle #musclebuilding #musclegain #calories #caloriegoal #caloriesincaloriesout #deficitbeforesurplus

Thanks for participating in last night’s poll. Let me give you something to think about. A study by David Jenkins,MD, PhD—the University of Toronto pioneer in low glycemic eating—demonstrates that eating small portions at frequent intervals is good for your health in a number of important ways. The researchers divided their subjects into 2 groups. Both are the exact same food with the exact same number of calories. One group ate their food divided into the usually three meals a day. The other ate more often, consuming lots of little meals. Surprisingly, the group that ate small meals throughout the day lost more weight. It wasn’t that they were less hungry (even though they were). They lost weight because their blood sugar didn’t continually spike and then dip down to an even lower level, the way it does after a big meal. Their glycemic levels—the amount of sugar in their blood—remained steady...and their craving for sweet foods went down. After 2 weeks, they found that people who ate every three hours reduced their blood cholesterol by over 15% and their blood insulin by almost 28%. That’s key—because, in addition to regulating your blood sugar level, insulin plays a pivotal role in fat metabolism, inflammation, and the progression to metabolic syndrome. When your body produces less insulin, you’re much less likely to convert dietary calories into body fat. This tells us that it’s not just what you eat, it’s when you eat it. Small amounts of nourishment throughout the day are better than the same amount of food concentrated in three big hits. If we feed the body at regular intervals, we send a signal to the body hat it doesn’t have to store calories. Conversely, when we skip meals, we send just the opposite signal for the body to store calories, creating a negative effect on the metabolism. I have followed this type of a meal plan since early April and can attest to its effectiveness. Although I’ve followed many meal plans over the years, this is the first time I’ve had it explained to me—the science behind it all. I’m really enjoying getting a brand new understanding of how we can control our weight and move toward healthier versions of ourselves.
