In March 2024 the German sound technician Manuel Diezel was sharing his knowledge with our @labuganda trainees in Yumbe. Our goal is to empower a whole team of refugees to operate the LAB UGANDA sound equipment, on stage and in the recording studio.🎛 For 2 weeks refugees, boys and girls, participated in intensive classes and learned theoretical knowledge to be applied in real situations. LAB UGANDA events require stage setup and good sound quality. Another important aspect of a mobile sound solution in Africa is maintenance and care. The trainees learned to diagnose different technical problems and to solder so they could fix broken cables and connectors. Ultimately the trainees will take Uganda national exams at DIT (Directorate of Industrial Training). Diplomas are key for accessing the job market. Hij weet van wanten achter de drum, gitaar én piano (maar nog niet tegelijk, we hebben geprobeerd…) Dertig jaar lang speelde hij slagwerk bij de Harmonie van Malle en al bijna even lang vergezelt hij Inge tijdens haar Tributes in den Beatnik. Proudly sporting my tiny @thirdmanrecords tshirt (kids size of course 😂) that I got one month from today 🤘🏽🔥❤️Didn't think I could be more blown away by the superhuman, divine being that is @officialjackwhite , but after visiting Nashville's @thirdmanrecords (which opened in 2009 after the original in Detroit in 2001) last Saturday, l was most definitely proven wrong 🥵🤯. This place was THE ULTIMATE MUSIC PLAYGROUND, bridging music history with modern innovation/technology & galvanizing a curious mind to discover, learn, appreciate how music has evolved and continued to serve as a conversation piece around the world. Aside from being one of the most prodigious guitarists that ever lived, @officialjackwhite has somehow found time to pursue his passion of cultivating a unique musical empire (record store, novelties lounge (featuring the third man record booth), studio, record label offices & distribution center, photo studio, and the world's only live venue with directo-to-acetate recording capabilities @theblueroomnashville ) that has United & inspired some of the most influential heroes of our generation and generations to come (for example, @willienelsonofficial 's hosted his 80th birthday here with many legends on he invite list). Dürfen wir vorstellen? Der Solist - Philipp Schum! Die musikalische Laufbahn von @phischu_ begann im heimischen Musikverein zunächst mit dem Unterricht auf dem Tenorhorn, bis er im Alter von 16 Jahren die Posaune für sich entdeckte. Sein Musikstudium schloss er an der @hfmdk.frankfurt bei Prof. Oliver Siefert ab, bei dem Philipp Schum zuvor bereits Jungstudent war. Weitere Impulse erhielt er bei zahlreichen Meisterkursen im In- und Ausland u.a. mit Christian Lindberg, Prof. Fabrice Millischer sowie Hansjörg Profanter. Nach erfolgreichen Probespielen wurde er 2017 Mitglied bei der @daszukunftsorchester und ein Jahr später Praktikant beim MDR- Sinfonieorchester. Darauf folgten Zeitverträge als Soloposaunist im Staatsorchester Darmstadt (2018), beim Gürzenichorchester Köln (2019) und im Staatsorchester Kassel (2020/21). Weitere Orchestererfahrung sammelte Philipp Schum beim Konzerthausorchester Berlin, an der Oper Frankfurt , beim hr- Sinfonieorchester, im Nationaltheater-Orchester Mannheim sowie am Stadttheater Giessen und am Stadttheater Freiburg. Neben der Tätigkeit im Orchester tritt Philipp Schum regelmäßig als Solist und mit verschiedenen kammermusikalischen Besetzungen auf. Darüber hinaus wurde ihm 2018 der #kulturpreis des @mainkinzigkreis zugesprochen.
