#NationalParkMission 💪 Now the time has come! The young birds of the bearded vulture pairs have been given their names. They are called 👉GIPPO-MARTELL and 👉LOKI-TRAFOI. In the Vinschgau/Val Venosta Valley, two pairs of bearded vultures have settled within the borders of the 🌲Stelvio National Park. This year 2022 was a successful year for both pairs, as they each raised a young bird. With a wingspan of almost three metres, the bearded vulture is one of the largest flying birds in the world and is a truly impressive sight, especially in flight. 📍Mammoth Cave National Park Mammoth cave is The Longest Cave in the World. Over hundreds of miles of flat land and corn fields in Kentucky and all of a sudden there is a large forest with a river running through it and beneath all that…are 412 Miles/220 meters of Cave. Many many miles that haven’t been discovered yet. There’s a river that runs through a long part of the cave and there are eyeless fish and shrimp that live in the water. This place is magical. They aren’t showing all of the tours but if you reserve in advance you can get on one of them that’s available. Here are a few pictures that I took from that day. They manage research for scientific projects🕵️‍♀️🔭 (e.g. on bearded vultures or biodiversity) and manage counts of 🦌wild animals in the protected area. Rangers give advice on damages caused by wild animals and on landscape management premiums. Rangers also supervise the annual red deer removal project in the national park. A special focus is on guiding and directing visitors as well as public relations work such as presenting the national park at various events.Technical services such as advising on earthmoving projects in the protected area, small interventions as well as monitoring compliance with regulations📑. Last but not least the rangers care about the red deer reserves 🌲🌲🌲of the area and manage the office service.
