I recently learned that the largest, tallest, and oldest trees in the world are all located in California. The oldest tree is in Inyo National Forest but its exact location is kept a secret. The tallest tree is located in Redwood National Park but it’s closed off and technically illegal to be within a mile of it. The largest tree (by volume) is located in Sequoia National Park and can be easily accessed hiking around The Giant Forest. It was breathtaking to see such a massive tree. I felt an intense energy building inside me as I got closer to it. I’m not sure if it was coming from the crowd of people in awe surrounding the tree or if it was from being in the presence of something truly amazing and unique in this world. I also hiked around Sequoia National Forest so Luna could check out the giant trees. #sequoianationalpark #sequoianationalforest #vanlife

Incredible blue water of exceptional clarity, huge cliffs that were bigger than I expected, waterfalls cascading directly into the lake. 🌲EASY HIKES in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park! 📌SAVE this post for your next National Park family vacation 1. General Sherman Tree Trail: 1.2 miles out and back, 200 feet elevation. Paved but quite a few stairs so not really stroller friendly. A MUST DO hike in Sequoia National Park to see the biggest tree in the entire world 😮🌳 2. The Big Trees Trail: 1.2 miles, 108 feet elevation. Stroller/Wheelchair friendly 3. Congress Trail: 2.9 miles, 460 feet elevation. A great hike to tack on to the General Sherman Trail. 4. Moro Rock: 0.5 miles, 183 feet elevation. This trail has EPIC views when you climb 350 stairs. Could be kid friendly for older kids but it’s a little sketchy on the way up with super steep drop offs. Also, the top is a little scary too (dane was scared 🤣)! Definitely would not take a toddler on this hike. 5. Zumwalt Meadows: 1.5 miles, 150 feet elevation 6. Roaring River Falls: 0.3 miles, 25 feet elevation 7. General Grant Loop: 0.7 mile loop, stroller friendly 8. Crescent Meadow Loop: 1.3 miles, 130 feet elevation (our least favorite of the hikes) We hope you enjoy these hikes as much as we did. YOSEMITE 🏞️ ▪️ Sûrement l’un des endroits que j’attendais le plus de ce voyage. Les parcs nationaux de Yosemite et de Séquoia. Ils se trouvent au cœur de la chaîne de montagne Sierra Nevada en Californie. Et vous pouvez le voir sur les images, en avril il y a encore de la neige ! Après avoir vu de multiples documentaires sur ces lieux et sur les meilleurs grimpeurs qui viennent affronter la paroi la plus dure du monde : El Capitan (2e photo, vue depuis le bas), je voulais voir ces falaises de granite de mes yeux ! Et c’est réellement impressionnant. 🧗 L’autre particularité de cette chaîne de montagne, ce sont les séquoias géants. Pour le coup, ils sont vraiment géants. On a notamment pu voir le Général Sherman, considéré comme le plus gros arbre du monde avec ses 83m de haut et ses 11m de diamètre, il aurait plus de 2200 ans. (J’ai pas de bonne photo des séquoias, ils sont trop grands pour rentrer dans le cadre).
