I can't bring myself to delete his account but unsure how often I'll post here any more (honestly I didn't post that often ever any way!) but I wanted to share the three most prominent images of Morrissey in my life... 1. The first is the home screen background on my phone and has been for about 5 years now. This is my baby chilling on freshly laid lawn in his yard, surveying our hard work. I think he liked it, but he did also love the dirt bowl that it was before this 😂 2. The second is a close up I took of him some 12-15 years ago with digital camera on ISO mode. This has been my desktop background on my PC's and laptops ever since. I remember taking it as he was just chilling on the couch with me and it came out so clear, I was surprised he sat perfectly still for so long! You can see the reflection of the fence and front lawn out the window in his eye ✨ 3. The third is my lock screen on my phone. This was about 10 years ago, just him being a bogan on the bed. He'd sit like this for ages and just kinda look at you like he had no clue what was so interesting. Cali’s story Cali was rehomed about five years ago. She was physically abused in her previous house and we wondered if she would ever accept human company in a new home. In the early days of her adoption, she would hide all day. Initially, she would flinch at the slightest movement, and wouldn’t let anyone touch her, and would run if you walked near her. Soon though, she realised that people meant her no harm. Her new owner has said, ‘She took to my husband first and was very bonded to him, but a couple of years ago, she just sat on my lap one evening. It was such an emotional moment for me. I admit I did shed a tear! We absolutely adore her. She came to us nervous and terrified and it’s taken five years of patience and love, but she is now a happy lap cat with a spectacular personality. She makes us laugh every day. Cali was estimated to be around five when we got her so she is around 10 now. She is mostly in good health although in the past year she has been diagnosed with triaditis and kidney failure. We have provided medication and a special diet and I am pleased to say we have reversed the progression of the disease to stage 1 and also eliminated the triaditis, so she is back to full health and vitality with careful monitoring. She is the light of our lives and I hope other people have the chance to take on a nervous cat. This sweet little gentleman is Bobby! Bobby is a tabby & white boy estimated to be between 6-12 months. He originally came into RSPCA care as an abandonment case with his two brothers, and the three of them showed signs of having little socialisation in the home they lived in previously. They were very scared and unsure of human contact. Bobby’s brothers were rehomed together as Bobby was more content by himself; they’re now thriving in their new home having settled into the family environment, and we’re hoping it won’t be long until Bobby finds that perfect match for him, too. Bobby is quite a gentle and nervous soul. He vocalises his uncertainty as hisses, though has never acted upon them. He’s currently in foster care as it was deemed he’d benefit from the time and quiet a foster home would be able to give him. He’s made great progress in the time he’s been with his fosterer, however, working to build his trust and his confidence is something that will need to continue in his new home. The best way his fosterer has found to do this is through treats and interactive playtime! Bobby is a big foodie, and so a bond can certainly be grown through mealtimes and more interactive treats such as lik-e-lix. Bobby is a very playful cat, too! His fosterer knows he’s been active overnight as his toys are often strewn across the room when she visits him in the morning! He enjoys playing with wand-style string toys, which can be an ideal bonding activity for him and a new human companion. Catnip can be used to enhance his playtime, too, as Bobby loves it! Once he’s comfortable with being stroked Bobby really enjoys a fuss, and will purr his little head off. He’s still just sensitive to noises and movements and can be a bit jumpy until he knows for sure there’s nothing to be afraid of. A special thank you goes out to the two schoolgirls who came into our Burnham shop on Saturday 20 April. They had raised an amazing £111 by fundraising in their local area for our charity, and had produced an information leaflet on the RSPCA which they gave to anyone who donated. They both did so well and really enjoyed themselves! 🏠Tala and Goose are looking for a special family who can give them the forever home they deserve after a sad start. They arrived at our centre after being found in a house with 23 other animals in disgusting conditions, kept in cages with no bedding, food or water. 532 days later .... 💔 Our beautiful Dawn needs a home after spending almost a year and a half in rspca care! We have spent over a year fighting to rehome Dawn and only in the last 2 months have we won the right to finally find her a family that will love and care for her like she's always deserved! 🩵 This sweet girl absolutely adores human company, resting her head on our laps to fall asleep to getting strokes 🩷 Her second best thing to do is zoom around our large field at full speed, whilst picking up toys on her rounds to throw in the air! 💨 Dawn does struggle being left alone so is looking for a home where someone is home most of the time. 🏖️ Beach time for Big Moose! 🏖️ A couple of days ago Moose had another day out to the beach! 😎 Being able to take the doggies to places like this benefits them in many ways. 🥰 It allows them to get out of the kennel environment in a new area to explore and sniff. Do you remember Benny? He came into us in December in a very sorry state. He needed surgery on his eye, a heart scan and lots of dental work. His coat was also in a bad condition due to nutritional issues from being neglected. After getting him healthy again, we found him a wonderful new home last month and just look at him now! (First 2 pics are from when he first came to us) He’s back to a healthy weight, his fur is growing back and he’s loving cuddles on the sofa with his new family. 😻 We love to see transformations like this, it makes all the hard work worthwhile. 😽Say hello to Magical Mabel😽 Mabel is a true inspiration and whoever takes her home will be very special indeed! This beautiful lady is being looked after by one of our dedicated foster carers, she loves to cuddle up next to her foster Mum on the sofa. Mabel was found scared and lost with her two brothers. Unfortunately, probably due to harsh weather and not being cared for properly, Mabel developed the early stages of skin cancer on the tips of her ears which resulted in surgery to remove the cancer and save her life. The body of a Bully dog has been found cut into pieces and burnt near a children’s playground in Tottenham, north London. RSPCA investigators are unable to identify the exact breed of the dog due to the extent of the mutilation. Lee Ricketts, an animal rescue officer with the charity, said: ‘This was a really distressing discovery. ‘The dog’s body had been cut up into several pieces, all their limbs had been removed, their head cut off and their spine appeared to have been sawn in half. ‘It is believed someone had attempted to burn the remains as parts of the dog had been burned along with the grass around it and there was a smell of burnt fuel.’ Click the 🔗 in our bio to read more. #bullydog #dog #animalviolence #rspca #news

Despite this she is still a playful girl, who loves darting around after her toys 🥺 Honey's arthritis is being managed with pain relief, and she has remained stable whilst in our care. Wilberforce Sans is a Bold Custom Typeface for RSPCA’s New Identity 🐷 The 200-year-old RSPCA, a UK animal welfare organization, recently unveiled its new identity with the launch campaign “For Every Kind.” JKR‘s London team created the new identity, which features a vibrant color palette, flexibility for use in digital spaces, and a charming illustration style. The new identity also features Wilberforce Sans, a custom typeface designed in collaboration with Studio DRAMA. Studio DRAMA’s Chris Nott (creative director) and Will Richardson (co-founder and creative director) drew inspiration from the RSPCA’s history of activism, specifically protest signage in the organization’s archives. The typeface got its name from this history: one of RSPCA’s founding members was the great abolitionist William Wilberforce. Nott and Richardson also wanted to invoke a different kind of provenance— the country’s Grotesque typographic tradition. For Wilberforce Sans, the team added a few unique deviations. Subtle stroke-weight contrasts deliver a hand-drawn quality, while ligatures embody togetherness and community. Tap the link in bio to read the full story!
