I get it that sometimes we donā€™t sleep well. I didnā€™t for decades, especially before a full moon, & had a robust story about ā€œIā€™m one of those people who only need 5 hours or lessā€. It was a vicious circle, until I realized it was a lie...until I learned what it felt like to be deeply rested instead of flopping around like a fish at the bottom of a fishing boat. My mental focus was better, my sugar cravings went away, my bodyfat lowered, my frustration-fuse was a lot longer, my gut health improved, workouts became both more intense & more consistent....life changed dramatically. That brings me to now when Iā€™m passionate about helping people step into a virtuous circle, creating a self-sustaining cycle of positive outcomes which gather their own momentum! Recent Canadian research confirms that 1 in 4 farmers have had thoughts of suicide in 2021, much higher than in the general Canadian population. Farmers are believed to be at high risk for suicide because of isolated working conditions, access to means, high levels of financial risk and uncertainty, seasonality of work, and lack of access to supports. AgKnow has partnered with Tara Adams of Abridge Consulting to create two customized suicide awareness and prevention workshops for Albertaā€™s agriculture industry. These workshops can be delivered in person or virtually by trained AgKnow facilitators and will be offered on a fee-for-service basis beginning in the fall of 2023.
