To decompress is to find success - and clarity for that matter. I’ve been really working hard lately on being more mindful - more present in my work, my mission, my why behind this huge career transition and transformation. ⁣ ⁣ Growing a business from scratch is no joke, and it’s super easy to feel the overwhelm and get lost in it. Something that has really, REALLY helped me has been turning off all music, any tv background noise, and most definitely my phone (silencing it, that is) and embracing the quiet. This was really challenging at first…I’ve always enjoyed background noise of some sort - mainly music. Today, I will share a little about how we can develop greater coherence between our brain and heart using gratitude. Brain and heart coherence is a state in which our brain and our heart work together efficiently – it is the unity of mind, body, and spirit. By focusing on gratitude in a state of meditation, we can create more balance between our heart and our brain. This creates greater feelings of clarity and emotional stability and reduces our stress levels. Start by finding a quiet place where you can sit or lie down comfortably. Take a few deep breaths and then start thinking about things you are grateful for. As you do this, try to focus on the feelings in your heart space associated with the things you feel grateful for. Notice how your heart feels as you focus on each one. The more you think of wonderful people, events, or experiences in your life – the more the energy in your heart space builds. In doing this, you are learning to create more coherence between your brain and your heart. With consistent practice, you will develop more coherence, resulting in more positive emotions and feelings. Twelve years ago, this very weekend, I began to walk after being utterly incapacitated. I had a life-threatening bike accident. What lessons have I held on to from this experience?  Above all else, the absence of visible injuries doesn't equate to the absence of injury. Be your own hero and always be kind. Key Lessons:  🫶Resilience: Learning to bounce back from setbacks, both physical and emotional, is a crucial skill in navigating life's challenges. 🫶Gratitude: Surviving a catastrophic accident can instill a profound sense of gratitude for life and a sense of pride if you managed to overcome it independently. It can also heighten your appreciation for the simple joys and moments that may have previously been overlooked. 🫶Perspective: Facing mortality or serious injury can shift one's perspective on what truly matters in life. It often leads to a greater urgency, focus on personal growth, and pursuing meaningful experiences. 🫶Adaptability: Adapting to life post-accident, whether it involves physical limitations or changes in lifestyle, requires adaptability and flexibility. 🫶Empathy: Going through a traumatic experience can cultivate empathy and understanding for others facing similar challenges. It fosters a greater sense of compassion and a desire to support those in need. 🫶Patience: Recovery from a catastrophic accident is often a slow and gradual process. What's on my mind?? Thoughts come and go effortlessly in our minds all day and this is how we subconsciously manifest the lives we live. By not having control of our thoughts, we leave them free to be manipulated by the world around us. Our minds are molded from either past experiences or from what we observe, and how we react to these situations creates a learned behavior so that the next time a similar situation arises, we produce an automatic chain of events and react the same way we did in the past. Therefore, our past is ultimately creating our future... Now imagine if we could practice a bit more self-control and consciously choose our thoughts? Imagine we could think like a billionaire for a day. Imagine we could be fearless, confident, or limitless? This is all completely within reach, and all we need to do is "train the monkey mind." We can do this by making meditation and visualization a daily habit and freeing our minds of the reactive nature we are all programmed to adopt. If we can increase the space between stimulation and reaction, we can find a moment of bliss that can be harnessed, and if we can utilize this energy towards manifesting whatever our hearts desire, then by design, it shall be ours. (A bit of a crazy concept but that's what's on my mind)
