The only three official vinyl releases from the @smashingpumpkins reunion album "Zeitgeist": "Tarantula" in white (UK) and "That's The Way (My Love Is)" in purple (UK) and maroon (US). If you have the 7" records still in the original PVC sleeves, you should replace them as soon as possible. Swipe left to see what a record looks like when it's been ruined by a process called "outgassing" 😮. The plasticisers in the PVC slowly break down over the years and turn into a gas that latches onto the record, leaving a layer of misting on the vinyl. It is near impossible to remove, and it is not only unsightly but audible as well, causing a ' whooshing' sound that's almost unbearable to listen to. Curiously, the misting only spread to those parts of my record that weren't covered by the hype and barcode stickers on the PVC sleeve. To date, "Zeitgeist" has never been officially released on vinyl, which is why the bootleg versions of it have become sought after copies. we're offering you some test presses of our releases. Here's the story: For every LP release we receive between 5 to 20 test press LP's. These are pressed to check if the album sounds the way it should, the tracks are in the right order etc. We have an agreement with the factory to receive these as coloured vinyls: in different colours than the final, actual pressing. These LP's also have New Era Productions test press labels. Most copies are given to the artists and friends, so to make them a little special we include custom made sleeves. Often with somewhat different artwork. Most include the inlays, flyers, posters etc that are part of this release. As we have a few of each left we finally decided to sell some in order to gain funds for upcoming releases. Ultimate: Pac-Man Selections" test pressing vinyl; composed by Shigeichi Ishimura, Toshio Kai, Junko Ozawa, Nobuyuki Ohnogi, Shinji Hosoe, Yuriko Keino, Kimio Yudate, Hiroyuki Kawada, & Norio Nakagata; arranged by Yuzo Koshiro, Hirokazu Tanaka, Yuji Masubuchi, Yusuke Takahama, Masafumi Takada, & Maki Kirioka; released in 2024. Comes in a custom jacket w/ artwork by @pw_etc, based on the design for Kool-Aid powdered drink packets; also comes with an art insert of the same piece. This unique version of the jacket is also a Warhol-style variation of the design. It contains 11 Pac-Man/Namco arrangements and retro medleys from both Super Smash Bros. 4 (8 tracks) and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (3 tracks). The tracks originate from Pac-Man, Pac-Mania, Galaga, Mappy, Libble Rabble, Metro-Cross, Sky Kid, Dragon Spirit, New Rally-X, Dig Dug, The Tower of Druaga, The Return of Ishtar, Wonder Momo, The Legend of Valkyrie, & Thunder Ceptor. Two of the Namco retro medleys from SSB4 aren't featured (Yokai Dochuki and Bravoman), but these were also dropped for Ultimate. The compilation opens with the three arrangements from SSB4: a retro-style Pac-Man medley by the legendary Yuzo Koshiro, a techno/dance Pac-Man medley by the equally legendary Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka, and an intense rock arrangement of a medley from Pac-Mania with some intense drums and synth keyboards. The following three tracks are new arrangements for Ultimate: a Galaga medley in a techno/rock style, a Mappy medley by Masafumi Takada, and a rock arrangement of the first stage of Dragon Spirit. The remaining five tracks are medleys taken straight from the original arcade game sources. All of the music here is a loving tribute to both Pac-Man and Namco games in general. Undoubtedly having been greatly inspired by these tunes in the first place, the arrangers all do a terrific job reimagining and expanding some of the most classic video game themes of all time.
