More twig weaving last night. I'm loving how freeing and explorative it is. Just wrapping and tying and threading. Letting the stick suggest what to do. I had a rain drop in mind for the blue piece but sideways it looks a bit like a happy fish! And the 3 different sized forks called to the 3 shades of pink yarn that had been waiting for their time to get involved. The green and orange piece that I made the other night uses plain old garden twine and some fluffy wool (that I finger-knitted into something a bit more substantial) alongside a chunky and soft knitting wool. Looking forward to sharing this craft with Crafty Coven and beyond - hopefully in an actual forest or woodland where we can scavenge and collect our own sticks and perhaps weave in some other pieces of windfall foraging. We finished up our twig weaving. A perfect little project to work away at during the cooler days of Fall. The larger plastic needles make this project easy for little hands to practice fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Fern would come and go as I worked away on it, as well as practicing on her own. Even though she wouldn’t hold her attention at this age to complete the full project, it’s important for her to see the finished product, and build her skills for the next time we do a project like this. 🧶 We added finishing touches with our paint markers on the twigs. Twig weaving for a workshop I ran yesterday during a glorious outdoor event on Anglesey with @autistic.uk, celebrating Autistic Pride in a beautiful community woodland @llynparcmawr where we were lucky enough to see red squirrels. I love texture and my sample includes the rich colours inspired by the woodland and sea, separating Anglesey from the mainland. Fortunately found yarn samples amongst my collection that perfectly blended with the moss covered twig. Finished off these few pieces. (I did use a Matt varnish but it looks a bit shiny to me! 🤦♀️) I am using them to dress the Wish Tree area but will definitely be making some more to Ninja. If you haven’t been to see The Wish Tree yet, it is on West Common, Lincoln, behind the tennis courts in the cricket field. 🌳❤️

Потому что ну со мной должно быть всё понятно.))⠀ ⠀ И вот ещё по первому вопросу хотелось бы конкретики. Потому что говорить, что "нуу, ... это такая палка..., на которой тканый коврик и нет, снимать его не нужно" - вроде бы очевидно (хотя, как оказалось, не для всех))). ⠀ ⠀ Может, поможете с названием сего творения?)⠀ В англоязычной среде встречала два варианта: #branchweaving и менее популярный #twigweaving. Переводится это примерно как "ткацкая ветка" Как бы это переиначить на русский?).. Put together a weaving/yarn station for the harvest fest and enjoyed making examples for the booth. Recently a knitting acquaintance declared to me that “weaving is the new knitting” and I’m not sure if I’m on board with that but I do hope to commit space and time to it someday. It’s really addictive!
