We created a web with our string to show how we are ALL connected, how #actsofkindness can make a difference, and that even when we can’t see the string, it is there. It was so powerful! 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐋𝐋! 🐷Together we raised $31.00 for @SisuRefuge and the amazing work they are doing for pigs and other traditionally farmed animals. 💕I know that this is only a small amount but every dollar helps (especially when their vet bills for October alone are $2,500) 🐷 No living being deserves to be taken from their families, mercilessly raised for food and then slaughtered in incredibly inhumane ways (is there even a humane way to slaughter?) all so that humans can have “meat”. In my opinion it is the absolute definition of lunacy. And pigs happen to be incredibly intelligent (smart as a 3-7 year old 👶), family oriented, loving and creative creatures! 💕I am so thankful to @Sisurefuge for all of the work they do. Their selflessness and the support of people like us make it possible for these piggies to know and live a life of love, comfort and freedom. ᑎᗴᗯ ᑭᖇOᒍᗴᑕT STᗩᖇTᗴᗪ! I am so excited to take on painting this room! It has needed a refresh for a couple of years now and I figured why not try it myself? It has however, brought up some feelings related to my current fundraiser. So I wanted to share a little bit more about why I am donating 10% of sales to @TogetherWeRise and their #sweetcaseduffelbags program which provide duffle bags to young people in the foster care system. How is this related to room painting? Well, I am just thinking about how lucky I am to have this home with my husband and have these rooms that we can feel safe and secure in. We get the security of knowing that these are ours until we are ready to move. Many youth in care do not have that luxury. Sometimes, like my younger self, they have to move in the middle of the night and all that’s available for packing is a trash bag and whatever they can fit in their backpack (if they have one). Other children, like my younger brother, are sent with the clothes on their backs to school and told by the foster parent “you can’t live here anymore”.
