Had a great time this morning at the inaugural @onurmarkproductions Texas City Sprint Triathlon! The water was choppy AF (I got nauseated but held off giving my breakfast up to the bay) I wore my running shoes and used flat pedals on the bike and somehow had the 5th fastest bike split of my age group 🤷🏼♂️ The run felt sluggish but I held a sub 13 minute pace for the 5K and ended up 7th out of 24th, Sweet!!! A huge thank you too my beautiful bride @howaboutval for being there and making sure I didn’t forget anything! Success!!! My plan today was to run 18 miles at a 15 min/mile pace and I was worried. It took a few miles but I settled into running 0.25 miles, walking 0.25 miles, running 0.15 miles, and walk the remaining 0.35 miles. Stuck to my game plan and it worked! I even had wiggle room!
