I’m back on trail!! After working out the logistics, I decided starting at Walker Pass was my best option! Had a nice weekend at the campground with @mg861f We met an amazing mom who was there waiting for her son who is on the PCT with two other friends. It was nice chatting with her and hanging out with them when they showed up. Im so excited to be back on trail! I really miss being out here and excited for the Sierras! Nature is my home!!

The Owens Peak Wilderness lies in one of those rare environments where three richly diverse ecosystems collide together. This Wilderness area is where the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains meet the Mojave Desert and Great Basin, where Pinyon Pines give way to Joshua Trees and where jagged and snowy mountain peaks fall away to the warm golden hues of the desert. This was the first place I had the incredible experience of seeing large stands of Joshua Trees cascading like a waterfall down from a mountain peak, through a canyon and finally spilling out into the valley. What’s more is Highway 178 and the Pacific Crest Trail role right through the heart of this wilderness, making it accessible for hikers, campers, horseback riders and hunting enthusiasts.
