A couple days after leaving Sequoia, I found myself just on the north edge of Joshua Tree National Park. I ended up following a dirt "road" for around an hour, and picked a spot to camp for the night. I saw very few other people on the way in, and they were closer to the highway. When I parked and turned off my truck, it seemed like I was the only person in the desert. It was so quiet, not even birds or coyotes that night. Was very peaceful. Never ended up going into the park itself, but after my last two national parks I was in no rush to be in a crowd of people again. #albertatomexico #overland #californiadesert

March 23, 2024, Red Rock Canyon State Park, CA. Not to be confused with the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area located west of Las Vegas in NV. This is a small state park located on CA 14 north of Mojave and south of Olancha. This park has quite some bouldering and off-roading opportunities. Acceptance and peace. Broaden your focus. Insistence is resistance; Insisting that everything on your box needs to be checked; insistence that you need to be at a certain place in your journey of life. This all leads to resistance and missed opportunities of love you are so deserving to have. â at any and every point of your journey. âââââââââââ I must say, the drive to and from the desert was absolutely breathtaking! The scenery was so stunning, it left me in awe. What made the trip even more memorable was connecting with my new friend and name twin, Ashley. Sheâs super awesome! We had planned to see some spectacular flowers, but unfortunately, the area we visited was a little underwhelming. However, we didnât let that dampen our spirits. Instead, we laughed it off and ended up capturing some amazing pictures that weâll cherish forever. Iâm already looking forward to next yearâs desert bloom and will make sure to visit a better spot this time.
