. Ótimo filme do diretor Ron Howard que narra a história verídica da desastrosa missão Apollo 13, da NASA. Foi a sétima missão do projeto Apollo e a terceira com intenção de pousar na lua, porém uma missão sem êxito devida a um acidente ocorrido durante a viagem, impedindo a descida na lua. O longa conta com um elenco respetadissimo com nomes como: Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris e Kathleen Quinlan. O Trio de protagonistas que vivem os três astronautas da Apollo 13, estavam no seu auge na década de 90. Howard muito competente entrega um filmaço, bastante técnico e com ótimos efeitos especiais, muito bem acabados com belíssimas imagem do espaço e da lua. Original Type 1 Snapshot Photo c.1994 . Kevin Bacon/Tom Hanks/Bill Paxton Apollo 13 . The production of Apollo 13 was one of the most innovative films of all-time. The award winning movie based on the 1994 novel was filmed partially inside of a NASA reduced-gravity aircraft simulating the weightlessness of space for cinema. This aircraft was cleverly nicknamed the "Vomit Comet" because of the constant sickness that many of the cast and crew experienced while shooting. . This personal snapshot, along with several others I will be posting down the line, were taken by I'm assuming a member of cast or crew during filming. Besides some behind-the-scenes video footage, and a handful of full cast production photos, these could possibly be the only Type 1 photos taken during production! How cool is that? . Una storia che ha dell’incredibile quella che riguarda Judith Love Cohen! Un'ingegnere della #NASA che durante le missioni #Apollo, lavorava ad un particolare sistema di salvataggio. In quel periodo era incinta e, proprio mentre stava partorendo, le si accese la lampadina e riuscì a risolvere un problema che la affliggeva da mesi. Proprio grazie a quell’intuizione su un sistema di sicurezza, l’equipaggio dell’ #Apollo13 riuscì a salvarsi. Tra le altre cose, Cohen lavorava all’Abort-Guidance System. Un sistema di così vitale importanza, però, non fu di facile progettazione per gli ingegneri che vi lavoravano, tra cui Cohen. Fu proprio lei, che il 28 agosto 1969, trovò la soluzione al problema mentre dava alla luce il futuro protagonista di School of Rock. Questo sistema era, dunque, fondamentale in caso di aborto dell’atterraggio, però, non venne mai usato per questo scopo. Invece fu usato per gran parte del rientro degli astronauti della missione Apollo 13 con l’obiettivo di far ospitare 3 persone per quattro giorni al modulo lunare, pensato per ospitarne due per due giorni! #SpaceCuE #CuE

Nachdem NASAs Chef der bemannten Flugsicherheit Ende der 60er-Jahre mit Charles M. Schulz – dem Erfinder von Snoopy – Kontakt aufnahm, um ihn zu fragen, ob es den Astronauten erlaubt sei, Snoopy als ihr persönliches Sicherheitsmaskottchen auszuwählen, zögerte dieser nicht lange. Als begeisterter Unterstützer des amerikanischen Raumfahrtprogramms stimmte Schulz sofort enthusiastisch zu. Der bekannte Comic-Zeichner aus Minnesota fertigte zudem extra eine Skizze von „Snoopy dem Astronauten“ an, die später den bekannten „Silver Snoopy Award“ zieren sollte, und war damit einverstanden, diese der NASA kostenfrei zu überlassen. Die Partnerschaft besteht bis heute: Während des aktuellen Mond-Programms war Snoopy während ARTEMIS I im November 2022 als "Zero Gravity Indicator" mit an Bord. Und auch die neue - in Anspielung auf den Vollmond komplett in Weiß gehaltene - OMEGA x SWATCH Moonswatch "Mission to the Moonphase - Full Moon" feiert die legendäre Verbindung von OMEGA, Snoopy und dem Weltraum, indem sie den charismatischen Beagle auf die Mondphasenscheibe des Zeitmessers bringt. Ale robila aj na iných veciach, ako Hubblov vesmírny teleskop a ďalšie projekty. Jej oddanosť práci bola taká silná, že v deň, keď išla rodiť sa zastavila v práci a odniesla si dokumenty s výskumom, na ktorom pracovala. V ten deň sa jej narodil chlapec. Ten sa neskôr stal slávnym hercom, ktorý nás zabáva dodnes. Volá sa Jack Black. “Sometimes, dead is better”-Released 35 years ago today, ‘Pet Sematary’ is one of my favorite Stephen King adaptions, it’s flawed in key areas, but I love it and have so much fun with it. I’ve been watching it for most of my life as me and my brothers were big horror guys, and this was a regular during AMC’s 31 days of Halloween, so I’d watch it at least twice every October. This is one of the rare King adaptations in which he also wrote the screenplay himself (he also has a cameo as a church minister) and in that regards that’s a semi weak point of because while he is a great novelist, he isn’t a great screenwriter in my opinion. Mary Lambert did solid work behind the camera, as she knew how to give the film a creepy atmosphere that led to some great jump scares. It’s a slow burn, but once it lets loose, she doesn’t hold back. I love how she wasn’t afraid to get all up in your face showing you the violence and blood, as this is quite the gruesome film that can be disturbing at times, featuring a couple of iconic scenes (Achilles slash) that still hit their respective purposes 35 years later and still make me feel uneasy, which I appreciate. The make up department did a fantastic job as a lot of the practical effects still hold up today. . . The plot is quirky and rather cheesy, but Lambert and King own up to it, and that’s a big part of why I love the film; it knows what it is and doesn’t try being more. Fred Gwynne as Jud Crandall, the Creed’s next door neighbor is my favorite character. He gives a great performance delivering some great old man wisdom, that gives us the necessary backstory on the town and the Pet Sematary. His way of speaking has always stayed with me, especially my opening quote. Miko Hughes was adorable as Gage, the baby of the family, and it was the beginning of his little run in the early 90s being in many childhood classics that includes ‘Kindergarten Cop’, ‘Dennis The Menace’ and ‘New Nightmare’. I met whenever he’s talking, but I love when he gets a bit menacing in the third act, quite chilling work that still has a dash of the adorableness when it’s needed to create and illusion. .
