Germany always has really good bands coming out of there, Kreator, Sodom, and Destruction comes to mind. However we will talk about a different band today, and a band from a different Metal subgenre that is the polar opposite of Thrash called Glam. Scorpions have been a band since the 1970’s and with 1980’s Animal Magnetism, you can hear that some Glam is creeping into their sound, and with the really early Glam bands like Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Motley Crue starting to get popular, the only sane thing to do is to follow in the footsteps of said bands. While Blackout (1982) was a major success for the band, this album would showcase the band’s Glammiest of Glam sound on here and it would help the band become one of the biggest bands once again, starting a trend of bands using the genre to revive their careers (Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, and Ozzy Osbourne come to mind). SCORPIONS: Love At First Sting. Editado el 27 de Marzo de 1984, está celebrando 39 años!!!🤘🤘🤘. Sin dudas, un CLASICO por donde se lo mire. 1984 fue un año más que prolífico para nuestra música. Todos los grandes lanzaron verdaderas gemas, Judas, Maiden, Dio, Accept, Manowar, entre otros produjeron una catarata de discos que marcaron la década e hicieron parte de la historia más rica del genero. Scorpions venía de afirmarse con Blackout y el reconocimiento masivo golpeó definitivamente a la puerta germana. Dieter Dierks, desde la consola, venía batallando junto a la banda desde 1975, cuando les produjo In Trance, etapa en la cual el lado más pesado de la banda aún coqueteaba con esos resabios entre psicodélicos y progresivos. Es el productor quién les marca el camino, introduciendo a la banda en tierra firme, para que cada uno de los discos posteriores sean pasos cada vez más seguros. Con Love At The First Sting, Scorpions y la masividad pasan a ser sinónimos, y a jugar en grandes ligas definitivamente , siendo ahí donde Dierks tiene mucho que ver. Tras el éxito de Blackout y su posterior gira, la banda había dejado la vara bien alta quizás por primera vez desde que empezaran a batallar unos cuantos años antes, sabían que el próximo paso debía ser el definitivo y con Love At The First Sting entrarían en la legión de bandas de referencia para el hard rock de la década. Una andanada de hits torna el disco en algo sencillamente irresistible, y a casi 40 años, sigue conmoviendo como el primer día. Tres cuartas partes del disco delegaron himnos como Rock You Like A Hurricane, Big City Nights, Bad Boys Running Wild, I´m Leaving You y la power ballad por excelencia Still Loving You, que sin dudas marcó un precedente, tanto que en lo sucesivo, no hubo banda que no intentara aferrarse al éxito a través de alguna balada. Publicado un 27 de marzo de 1984 que nos dejó 4 sencillos que ya son clásicos de la banda: "Rock You Like a Hurricane", "Still Loving You", baladón si los hay, que fue la canción más exitosa de éste disco, sobre todo en los mercados europeos, "Big City Nights" y "I'm Leaving You".
