Yoga at Hollywood Studios was an amazing experience as I’ve never felt so calm in a Disney park! After we napped, we got the long awaited beignets, picked up my 5k bib at the race expo, and hit Disney Springs for some shopping and dinner. Another day another “run” in the books. Today I was able to go faster and I didn’t want to die… major win. Years ago I got really into running. I did the same Couch to 5K style app and once I could jog three miles without stopping I would go further and see how far I’d go. I kept doing that for months and when I stopped I was doing 6+ miles a day. Today was the first day that I felt like I could really keep going and keep doing it. Let’s talk RunDisney Princess 5K 🏃🏽♀️✨ • The morning of your race you’ll take the bus to where the race starts. You’ll need to know what coral you’re in (it’s on your bib) and what time your coral starts. • When you’re first dropped off it literally feels like a party! 😅 There’s music playing, there’s characters, there’s food trucks. It’s just a vibe you can’t explain. • Our characters for meet and greet were (5k) Ariel, (10k) Rapunzel, (half marathon) Tiana, (run challenge) Anna and Elsa. • I didn’t know there was going to be food and drinks. So make sure if you’re hungry you go check that out before turning in your bag. • That’s right, Disney will hold your bag/backpack for you. There are clear bags that you will write down your bib number on. Then you will take it to one of the locker trucks they have there. They will give you a sticker to put on the back of your bib. You will then show them this number when you return. It’s actually very organized. • Then you head to your coral. Things got very crowded here. Once it was time for the races to start it was a lot of waiting since I was in coral D. But don’t worry your race time doesn’t start until you cross them start line. • There was some very cool characters during the race but the lines were just so long. I didn’t stop for any but I did see Prince Charming, Cinderella, Bo Peep, Goofy, and some more. • You don’t HAVE to run. The 5k isn’t a timed event. So this one is great for beginners and/or to experience with your kids. Kids can run the 5k at the age of 5 years old. For the 10k, kids must be at least 10 years old and 14 for the Half Marathon. • Nothing can prepare for the feeling you’re feeling when you’re out there. Since my friend was sick I had to run the race alone but it also gave me time to reflect on the beauty of it all. • Would I recommend the 5K to beginners? ABSOLUTELY! Up where they walk, up where they run! 🏃♀️ I think this was my 6th Disney race! I’ve been dressing as Ariel every Princess race, and this race was finally themed to her! So I went for the pink dress look, which is also her outfit on the medal (in my exhaustion, I took selfies with the back of the medal, then later exclaimed about how cute the back of the medal was, and Wayne pointed out that I’d taken all these photos with it already.. 😂)! 👑 👑 👑 I was worried about being too cold before the race (it was 50 degrees—big thanks to Wayne for being a spectator to support me and bring his backpack to carry my sweater) but I had to RUN to get to the gates! Wayne and I took one of the last buses from the hotel, and a cast member said, “Put a bit of pep in your step, the gates for runners close at 5” and it was 4:55 😱 Obviously I made it, but I hated thinking I lost some steam before the race even began!! Then I had 40 mins to wait in the corral until the wave I ran up to was allowed to begin 🤷♀️ Things work out. 👟 👟 👟 My first mile was 13 mins, then 16 for mile 2, then I waited 19 mins to meet Goofy (the only character I stopped for), and finished the last mile and change dodging around the walking crowd (nothing wrong with walking!! I was just on a roll!) in 14 mins! I’m super proud of myself, and I’m glad I took some walking breaks and photo/video breaks to just stop and enjoy the privilege of running through Epcot before operating hours. It’s always magical! 👸🏾 👸🏼 👸🏽 If you’re curious, the characters along the race included Prince Eric (first, because most of us were dressed as Ariel), Cinderella and friends (the prince and a sewing mouse), Aurora and her prince (are they ALL named Prince Charming? 😅), Jester Goofy, and a bunch of photo ops with Spaceship Earth. I can’t remember if there was more royalty along the course, but then at the end they only had princesses (the ones representing each race): Ariel, Rapunzel (and Flynn), Tiana, and Ana & Elsa. #rundisney #disneyrace #disney5k #disneyprincess5k #princesshalf

The biggest congratulations to our client Amanda who crossed the finish line for both the Disney 5K and 10K back-to-back this month down in FL👏👏👏 Amanda started her health and fitness journey with us in 2021 and has never looked back.
