A week like this week means only one thing. Cuddles. Bad news, the worst actually. My cancer has become resistant to the chemo already. We went yesterday for dose #5 and my Doctor came with a sad face…so we knew. CHOP chemo isn’t working anymore (after getting only 25% of the way through) and so they are trying me on a different type of chemo now. But the lumps are back, and unless they shrink fast, we could be in some serious trouble. So since a gorgeous weekend away last weekend this gorgeous little boy and our world was turned upside down within 24 hours. We found out paco had lymphoma cancer which was very aggressive and multiplied so fast all around his neck chest and then onto his face plus the tumours where squashing his tubes and causing him to get water retention around his nose and mouth that was literally suffocating him 💔💔💔 I’ve never felt hurt like it in my life seeing him suffer and then to be told it can’t be cured 💔💔💔 We are devastated as he is literally our world! But on the positive side he can have chemotherapy which will keep him here with us much longer as he only had 4-6 weeks to live otherwise , which quickly reduced to them saying he wouldn’t last the weekend 😭 But with weekly chemo for 6 months we can hopefully give him another 9-12 months at least of fun before it comes back but looking into natural remedies also we are hoping we can keep him healthy and happy much longer as he’s only 5 🥺 Chemo life definitely will be a different way of life for us all but afterwards he can have some normality for the rest of his time here! Easter sucked this year. Although I’m daily grateful for our risen King, our family was all separated and Pike felt awful. I saw everyone’s family pictures and yearned for our family to be together again. The last two years have not been our best. It’s time for my quarterly PET scan (results Thursday). Pike had a liver biopsy and a semi-permanent port placed in his chest yesterday. We will be port twinsies. Recovery was terrible and we were not prepared. He has felt nauseous and in pain since Saturday night. Pike walked a whole mile in the halls Saturday morning! He hasn’t done that since December. But, his good days don’t seem to stick. Pike is fighting several viruses - one with long term effects and one that can’t be treated in Dallas. Please pray these viruses get under control, the pain and nausea from the Graft vs Host Disease is lessened, and he can eat food soon. So late in posting but Kendall update: she had to have a blood transfusion Tuesday. She was really low on her red blood cell counts. She’s finally starting to feel better. This transformation, resulting from chemotherapy’s impact on cell growth, underscores the journey’s challenges. Chemotherapy targets cancer cell growth but inadvertently affects healthy cells, including those in hair follicles, leading to hair loss. Cutting one’s hair becomes a metaphor for the broader transformation cancer patients experience, signaling a readiness to courageously confront change. In this change, I find solace, recognizing that worth extends beyond appearance. It’s my work wife @haleighmanhkong ‘s birthday. And we got a casual day! I love working with Haleigh! She makes me better and the ying to my yang. We make the best team. She’s my cheerleader, my spurer oner, my leader, my helper, always adding color to my world. It was two years ago today that my world was forever changed and I transitioned to cancer fighter. Haleigh and my TCA family were so incredibly supportive. With 24 hour drips for 6 days straight at a time, I wasn’t sure I could do it once, much less seven times. Not only did they help me through then, but they helped me do it again a year later with my boy. Guess what….they were REALLY PLEASED with my progress after the first session of chemo! My Doctor even said it a few times with a big smile! All my lumps have nearly gone and I have reacted really well to the treatment so far! They even said that some of us doggo’s can have signs of remission as early as the 4th session, she said it’s rare, but she thinks I might be one of them 🙏 It won’t go away completely and I will never be cured! Got the last of my four sets of toddler shots. You’d think they’d give me a sucker or something. After transplant, your system resets and you lose all prior immunities and immunizations. I’m glad to be done! Poor babies! It’s painful! Next stop, PET scan at the end of the month and hopefully get a break until my two year anniversary in September. Overall though, feeling good. Ah da war doch was 😮 oder 😀nicht n das werden die nächsten unterschiedlichen Untersuchungen bringen. Letzte Woche war unter anderem auch wieder ein MRT in Sachen 🥹Hüfte links 🤔 nun Artefakten geprägt allerdings gut erkennbar Darm mächtig auf Blasendach drückt das coecum abknickt alsbald Tiefstand selbigem.😳😏ich ging, da dies ja wohl nichts zur Sache tut…. So mein Gedanke 💭…im Zug dann schon sehr nachdenklich darüber nachgedacht..( bereits seit etlicher Zeit oftmals massive schmerzen beim Stuhlgang etc…Unregelmäßigkeiten…) Aber ko war ich🫣 zuhause erstmal essen 🥘 und dann auf die Couch 🛋️ zum schlafen gelegt. Anruf kam von überweisenden Praxis ich denn wohl umgehend Termin in fachbezogenen Richtung arrangieren solle. …Läuft… Kardiologie 🫀 Termin war auch noch(seit guten 5 Monaten gewartet auf diesen), in der letzten Woche und dort was soll ich sagen 🫶🫶🫀🫀Mega liebenswert behandelt… aber… auch hier ist es wohl besser noch andere unterschiedliche Untersuchungen durchzuführen zu lassen.(was ich auch in gewisserer Weise wusste 🙈…) Heute noch kurz zwei Blutwerte abgenommen bekommen… Aber nach reiflicher Überlegung und in mich gehen… bin ich nun absolut bereit…. Ja zu allem kommenden zu sagen. Ich hab mir all dies so nicht ausgesucht 🙈aber auf meinem Weg gelernt Ruhe in mir zu finden.🍀🪷 Es ist an der Zeit. Siehe @Loudrare…. Die nächsten Baustellen 🚧 in Arbeit 🥹🥲🙏…Fußgelenk und Hüfte nich immer nichts geklärt 🥹man gewöhnt sich dran🤢 Und ja 👍 dann ist es so. Und es passt vielleicht 🤔 hier mal aufzustehen um anderen Mut zu machen egal was kommt annehmen vorwärtsgehen, kurz innehalten durchatmen…weitergehen. ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹 aber auch die nötige Ruhe, inneren Frieden finden Kraft 💪 sammeln um weiterzumachen. In der Natur und im Fotografieren finde ich dies zumeist 🫶🪷ganz gut🛋️. Finally decided to go to emergency. They did bloodwork, ultrasound, they saw gallstones in my bladder and lots of swollen lymph nodes which alerted them. We decided to do a ct scan to further investigate. Got admitted to the hospital and 1 day later I had the surgeon come in my room who said I had to remove my gallbladder. Later that day he brought me an oncologist to my room to give me her opinion. That was scary. That day the oncologist said my body was full of disease and it looked like lymphoma. They don’t diagnose based on picture only through a biopsy so the oncologist told me while being under removing the gallbladder that they were going to do a biopsy to confirm. The biopsy came back with 2 possibilities. It was between castleman’s disease and lymphoma. Did a pet scan for further investigation. After that there was a board meeting with a few docs to discuss my results and it was confirmed stage 4 follicular lymphoma. I was told it had spread everywhere, on the groin, arm pits, neck, supraclavicular, top and bottom of the diaphragm, even in the bone marrow😱 Only God knows for how long I was walking around so sick without knowing. Oblivious to all my symptoms. Today I completed my 5th treatment, safe to say it’s working, everything is 85% gone!
