🔵🟢 You may have noticed how smart our Vic Team looked in our new Victorian uniform recently at the Australian Youth Nationals 2024! 🟡🟠 Sport Climbing Victoria needed a new uniform and were looking to find a design by an indigenous artist to reflect and pay respect to our first nations people and culture. We found an amazing artist to help bring to life this incredible design, Alex Kerr from Liwik Yiyah Design, creating this design for Sport Climbing Victoria. "This design is based around a pretty significant place for our people - Mt. William. I chose Mt. William purely to relate to the fact that you're a climbing team and also to be similar to your logo. Mt. William is where our ancestors would craft tools, weapons etc out of the special stones that are still found out on Mt. William today. They would then use this place as a meeting place for all neighbouring tribes to conduct trades, they used this spot as when you stand on the top of Mt. William you have a perfect view of all people coming before they arrived. Participants from our ICP Spain programme, for young people with learning difficulties, were invited to play at a clinic during the Barcelona Open. The special group shared time on court with Pablo Carreño, Sebastian Baez, Jaume Munar and Martin Landaluce during the Isdin Clinic. It is a time when barriers disappear and they can enjoy the benefits of any player. About 2000 spectators attended the event. What a week. We had @blinddavelewis visiting us for a few days in the water. Dave has a sight condition called retina pigmentosa that will within the next few years leave him with total sight loss. Day 20 AT Thru Hike 2024 Location: NC / TN Border Start: Tri-Corner Knob Shelter - 232.5 End: Davenport Gap Shelter - 247.1 Miles: 14.6 Ascent: 1957 | Descent: 5407 Sleep: Shelter Mood: 🙂 Mission Possible - Power Beyond Decisions! Had to make two key decisions today: The first was whether to get out of my sleeping bag while the rain was falling on the metal roof of the shelter. The choice I made was to get up and get ready to get on the trail by 6:30am. Glad I did as the rain subsided to a drizzle and the hike was pleasant, albeit wet, muddy and slippery. It did rain pretty hard in the early morning. Very few pictures today due to the heavy fog. The day consisted of over 5,400 feet of descent—the biggest single-day descent on the trail so far. It was not bad other than lots of rocks and very slippery. The second big decision was what to do when we arrived at Davenport Gap Shelter. Someone posted on the FarOut app that Trail Angels were providing food/beverage/snacks at Davenport Gap, about a mile further down the trail from our shelter. Trail Magic is hard to pass up! We put our bags in the shelter, put our sleeping systems together and took off on the extra one-mile descent to the trail angels. It was well worth it. I had two hamburgers and one hot dog along with four small bags of chips and other treats. The trail angels were from Michigan and have a son-in-law “FastBreak” who is hiking the trail. Wonderful people and very generous. BTW, the one-mile hike back up to the shelter was not that bad with a full tummy and no backpack. Tonight is our last night is the Smokys — another milestone of sorts! 🎾🌴 Pattaya International Beach Tennis World Cup Tour 2024 🌍🏆 was a smashing success! 🦯 СКАНДИНАВСЬКА ХОДБА ПРИ ОСТЕОХОНДРОЗІ. 🔻У Фінляндії було проведено дослідження на тему впливу ходьби з палицями на симптоми остеохондрозу та рухливість хребта у шийному та грудному відділах. 🔻Брали участь 55 жінок - офісних працівниць, у яких виявилися виражені симптоми остеохондрозу шийно-плечового відділу. Протягом 12 тижнів випробувані ходили зі спеціальними палками тричі на тиждень по 30 - 60 хвилин з навантаженням, що дорівнює 65-75% від максимального пульсу. Контрольна група протягом усього часу експерименту не змінювала звичного способу життя. В рамках цього експерименту за допомогою електроміографії (ЕМГ) визначалася м'язова активность при ходьбі з палками. Так було з'ясовано, що найбільш активно працюють м'язи передпліччя - трицепс і ліктьовий згинач зап'ястя або м'яз передньої області передпліччя, що згинає і приводить кисть, а також задня частина м'яза плеча (дельтовидний м'яз), великий поперечний м'яз грудей і найширший м'яз спини. 🔻Відповідно до результатів даного дослідження: РЕГУЛЯРНІ ЗАНЯТТЯ СКАНДИНАВСЬКОЇ ХОДЬБОЮ ЗМЕНШИЛИ СИМПТОМИ ОСТЕОХОНДРОЗУ і навіть вплинули на суб'єктивні болючі відчуття в цій галузі.
