After walking to Southgate from Rotherslade ,I wanted to return over the top of @langland_bay_golf course rather than retrace the same route back ( I always prefer a loop rather than doubling back ) . The steps up there were a challenge on my knees after already walking over 9km but the view is well worth the effort . Caswell at low tide looked so gorgeous. It was high tide when we set out so seeing such a huge contrast in the same beach in a matter of hours was amazing. What a beautiful day of endless sunshine ( yes we burnt a bit 🥵 ) & spectacular views. So when you come to stay in @seawatch_mumbles make sure you pack some shoes to go for a walk in ( walking shoes or trainers) . It doesn’t need to be an epic walk , you could do a short walk .But don’t would go home & miss out on seeing some of our spectacular coastline . Bring some flip flops too , much easier for beach days . Mumbles isn’t really a high heels kinda place. It’s very casual , very relaxed . The weather is very changeable so bring something for windy rainy days & hopefully it may stay in the suitcase 🤞🏼 But we’ll give you a list of suggestions for things to do & places to visit on rainy days too. The much loved Apple landmark is located in Bracelet bay around the corner from Sea Watch house. It is thought to have been constructed in the 1930s as a promotional kiosk for cider brand, 'Cidatone.' Similar kiosks could be found across the UK, including at Barry and Porthcawl - but the Mumbles kiosk is a rare survivor. The unusual building has seen a lot in its many years in Mumbles. In 2006, pranksters painted the whole kiosk orange. After a Ford Fiesta crashed into it 10 years ago, the kiosk was meticulously repaired, with 27,000 people backing a Facebook campaign to restore it. The building was given listed status by Cadw, a Welsh Government body, in 2019. Cadw said it had listed the elliptical concrete building for "its special architectural interest as a rare and unusual example of a seaside refreshment kiosk. This afternoon I had a walk from Sea Watch down to @mumblespier then across the beach ( it was low tide) past the lighthouse on to Bracelet bay & Limeslade bay . Lots of rock pools to explore & the long collapsed cave in 1st pic. It was much warmer today than yesterday’s biting cold but it was a greyer day.
