The prints are all made by hand, using Fabriano watercolour paper. This surface has a silkοΏ½like quality and holds the colour beautifully. Itβs also acid free, which means it doesnβt fade or discolour. Each design is made in a small edition. The prints are individually numbered and signed. Once an edition is sold out, Ruth adapts some of the images for her range of greetings cards. Ruth trained as a textile designer in Liverpool and Birmingham, after which she worked as a freelance designer and illustrator. Clients have included Ikea, Sainsburyβs, Waterstones and Marks and Spencer. She has worked extensively with Tate, writing and illustrating 3 childrenβs books and a designing a range of toys, clothes and tableware. Her prints focus on plants, gardens and animals with a nod to mid-century design. There is a strong illustrative style, with bold colours in contrasting layers.

First Day Out! Last weekend I had my first Saturday off (during the work season) in years, my first trad climb of the year, and Rachelβs first route since fracturing a couple off vertebrae in her back 2 weeks ago. It also felt like the first day of sun for 2024 π€£ . We settled on the lesser frequented Clogwyn y Bustach which is right next to the uber popular Clogwyn Yr Oen in the Moelwyns above Tan Y Grisiau. Iβve been here once before, around 10 years ago, to do the crag classic βFlake Wallβ a nice HVS. . It turns out this crag is absolute awesome for wall climbs around the e2-ish level! Itβs like a mini (but still 25-30m) version of the Cromlech. Itβs slightly slabbier, but features very similar climbing with lots of nice rails, crimps and crozzly pockets. . First up was the crag classic βTitusβ which I thought was good value at e2. Initially Rach said she was going to second everything but obviously when we got there that changes (I think she sneakily was always planning on it if she was feeling well enough!). Thereβs a burly crux on this thing but with a big rack there a lot of kit. This is a top quality climb as good as anything else in north wales and 3 stars for sure. The rock is just superb! . Next was the bold sounding a bold looking Acoustic Flake - e3 5b. I generally donβt like bold stuff. The nice rock lured me in on this one. Initially I remembered, I donβt like this stuff, and then I decided the movement was pretty nice so in this rare instance the risk warranted it, and said to Rachel she might like it. Itβs basically unprotected 5a (or easy 5b) climbing to around 15m where thereβs some gear (just beyond acoustic flake π€’) and some more nice creeping above. Overall not too bad for e3 5b but you canβt get these things wrongβ¦ . Continued below π

Hello, one and all, so today I took myself to snowdon in Wales. And tried a second time to reach the summit. Unfortunately, it didn't happen again. But I did manage to get a little closer to the top. But if you ever visited snowdon. You will know the last part of the path is more or less a climb. And I struggled, even turning back and climbing down, took some time. It was an awesome day out in the mountains. Quite a challenging route up towards Y Garn followed by a ridge walk providing some of the best views of the Snowdonia National Park then later ascending Elidir Fawr. We started our route in Nant Peris ascending towards Y Garn and it is a relentless, steep ascent to the top! Worth it though to see excellent views of Tryfan and Glyder Fawr. Making our way along the ridge allowed us to get our breath back before tackling Elidir. Elidir, the most northern peak of Glyderau. It is known as Big Elidir referencing a 6th-century warrior king in Welsh legend. There is also a power station inside the mountain where water flows from the upper reservoir of Marchlyn Mawr to the lower Llyn Peris. And finallyβ¦ Snowdon! Now, Iβm not going to lie. This one I nearly didnβt do in the same day but somehow my want to say βI completed the Welsh 3 peaksβ took over and I persevered. I chose Llanberis path (didnβt research to know it was the longest path π€¦πΌββοΈ) However I Pushed both my physical and mental abilities and made the summit claiming my success. Some amazing scenery only heightened by the sun setting around 8:30pm as I was 3/4 of the way back to base.
