I am Greatful and thankful that 5 years ago, when I started my flower journey, I knew I wanted to grow tons of perennials of all sorts. Domestic violence isn’t always bruises, scars and broken bones. Although it most certainly can be. Sometimes it looks like frequent trips to a therapist, calls to the Police instead of trips to the emergency room. It isn’t always something you openly discuss. It carries a lot of shame, and even embarrassment. Sometimes it is manipulation and gas lighting, love bombing even. Sometimes it looks like being held hostage and unable to leave the situation. Sometimes it is Power/Control strategies and feeling intimidated. It’s being isolated from your friends and family. It’s being convinced that you are worthless, that no one will ever love you. It’s questioning EVERY SINGLE THING you have ever known to be true because they have spent so much time just slowing chipping away at your sanity. ▫️ If I ever make an impact in this world, let it not be for my photography but for my message and my voice. If you or someone you love is facing domestic violence please reach out for help. If you notice red flags, if you feel it in your gut, PLEASE listen. 📣 If they tell you that they will change, don’t listen! Get yourself out of that situation. If things get physical and they tell you that they’ll never do it again, leave and remove yourself from that situation. I know that you love and care about them, but someone that feels the same about you would never degrade, intimidate, manipulate, hit you or abuse you. You deserve better. It’s another wonderful #waterfallwednesday 🤩 Time to take a break from all the gorgeous #auroraborealis photos in your feed and enjoy some peaceful waterfall scenes! Today’s waterfall feature is #mashforkfallswv located in #campcreekstatepark . This is a spot I enjoy visiting frequently. It’s super easy to access and is just a peaceful place to spend a couple hours even if I’m not there for photography. On my most recent visit, I didn’t even plan to photograph the falls but couldn’t pass up an opportunity to do a little river wading on my last day there and capture a few images.
