Yesterday I caught up with my newly formed art group of girlfriends. We’ve called ourselves the WILMA’s (women I like making art) and even though everyone is at different stages of their artistic pursuits, our styles are very different and we mostly barely knew each other before meeting - we never run out of things to discuss. The future is coming, a desolate land, the Yangtze River has become a swamp, and food is hard to find. The riverbed aborigines of the apocalypse built a mutual aid energy supply station on the ark and sent out signals to gather survivors. It was a great start to our summer plein air painting programme this week. We all met at Brathay Church Hall and painted down on the river bank.
