When this was April! A month of two halves! More sickness and hospitals at the start but finally after a long 8 weeks of illness from all 4 of us we managed a few nice days and moments! The occasional dry day and peak of sunshine is what was desperately needed and it was so nice to get out and about a bit! So here’s hoping May finally brings warm, dry weather to help us all! April has been a tough month for teething, still not eating and horrendous sleep form littlest! 18 months old and no signs of improvement despite feeling like we’ve tried any and everything!! Tips welcome!! 1. Finally some beach time 2. My forever bestie visiting 3. My sleep thief resisting her nap whilst we walk along the beach having just screamed down the cafe 😫 4. A rainy Friday after school treat 5. A lock-in at the cafe (genuinely was closed with just us in there for nearly an hour whilst the staff cleaned up for the day). 6. On Saturday I also went out in search of bluebells and wild garlic, but this time to just outside the Killerton Estate near Broadclyst, Exeter, to a woods called Columnjohn. I was a little disappointed as I had hoped for a lot more of the wild garlic in the woodland and certainly some bluebells, but there was only wild garlic in certain places. There is a path that runs the length of the woodland and takes you right up to the border of the Killerton Estate, and I walked it all in search of what I had in my mind. We really like the individual characteristics of reclaimed wood and loved the style of Tim‘s bathroom vanity units. Tim was friendly, efficient and helpful in providing an itemised quote for the work (very reasonable price) and was open to our suggestions to make some adaptions to his design to meet our requirements. Tim kept us updated on the progress of our order along with photos of the work. The vanity unit arrived safely and the whole piece including the brushed brass hinges, handle and hairpin legs looked very smart. But as we wander through these stunning landscapes, it’s a reminder that sometimes, the best escape is just a walk away.
Enjoyed a lovely "gardeners breakfast" at a dear friend's place, surrounded by her enchanting garden. While I was wandering her garden, I stumbled upon this quaint tile resting on a greenhouse windowsill. 🌿✨ It was tucked among medieval-looking angels and animals, created by sculptor Tom Clark @tomclark_stonecarving_courses. To me, it perfectly marks the start of the gardening season. The tile seemed to shout, “Here we grow again!” 🪴👩🌾 This year, I'm mixing veggies with flowers. Each morning, I can't wait to check on my tiny seedlings. I'm realizing it's less about the plants themselves and more about the process. Like pottery, gardening is all about nurturing and growing. It's shaping who I am, just as I help shape it.
